Hello,
I am using a Benq XL2430T for more than 3 years a row and it worked like a charm with dual link DVI and VT1500...until now. I started experimenting with DisplayPort cable since I am thinking about to buy an RTX card and RTX series has no DVI port.
My problem is there are some color artifacts (red, yellow, green, blue pixels) around the texts (pictures attached, other color accuracy and brightness looks kinda the same).
I did the following steps (after plugging in the cable):
* Uninstalled Pixel Clock Patcher
* Set up CRU with the same VT1500 settings what I have used (picture attached)
* Run Restart64 to apply the settings as usual
Everything else is the same...
Edit: I have a guess that it's related to the output dynamic range, but it's locked in Nvidia control panel, if I use CRU (I need CRU because of the brightness it provides).
Thanks in advance!

Re: Benq XL2430T color artifacts
Those are ClearType artifacts.
1 .You may have the Color Saturation raised way too high in the monitor menus
2. Go to Start Menu search box and type "Adjust ClearType"
3. You can tune your ClearType that way.
But I think it's a canary for another picture adjustment problem like an excess color saturation setting that you configured your DisplayPort that you didn't on HDMI.

Re: Benq XL2430T color artifacts
Hey,
Thanks, I think I have found the issue, but not the fix unfortunately.
The problem is the color range, it won't work with normal VT1500 since there is a displayport pixel clock limitation: 360 MHz or higher reverts to 6 bit color (that's why I couldn't set the RGB range in NCP) based on Falkentyne's earlier post about that. I tried to resolve it with setting the Vertical Total to 1498 or 1499 and Horizontal Total to 2001, I got the good brightness, the Output Dynamic Range became selectable, but when I tried to set it up and went to Apply, it was reverted me to the previous settings...
Then I set up the Custom Resolution in NCP, got the good brightness, could set up the correct RGB range and save it, but in any fullscreen application it reverted to the previous brightness.

You need to go to the Extension Block and delete the existing 120hz refresh rates. (you may have to do this for 60hz and 100hz if you are using custom refresh rates with custom vertical totals there too).

Yes, GTX970, deleted all extension blocks and all existing refresh rates, no success...

Don't forget trying to switch to ToastyX instead of NVIDIA and vice-versa
Don't forget computer reboots.
Don't forget ToastyX reset-all.exe as a tool
Don't forget ToastyX restart64.exe as a tool
And as a last resort, don't forget graphics driver reinstall
Sometimes add-delete custom resolutions screw up... It often does that on my system. In such a situation, I clear everything out and reboot, and try over again. I don't know why it's that balky sometimes (Maybe NVIDIA graphics driver bug?)
