C49HG90 best Settings without Gsync/Freesync

Talk about NVIDIA G-SYNC, a variable refresh rate (VRR) technology. G-SYNC eliminates stutters, tearing, and reduces input lag. List of G-SYNC Monitors.

C49HG90 best Settings without Gsync/Freesync

Post by soulcrash » 19 Feb 2019, 09:34

Hey guys,

i got my C49HG90 some days ago and found out that the GSync Compatible Mode is somewhat broken.
In Ultimate Mode i get weird flickering, mainly in dark areas. Its better in some games and worse in others, but for me its not enjoyable in any game. It happens no matter which refresh rate is set and no matter at which point the frames are being capped.
In Standard Mode there is NO flickering, but the Monitor seems to be stuck at 144HZ (or the refresh rate set at driver level) resulting in stuttering when the FPS are capped at 140ht for example.
This seems to be a common problem with no workaround at the moment.

So i am currently looking for a way to get the lowest possible input lag without tearing, without Gsync/Freesync.
In my use scenario (simracing in assetto corsa and dirt rally) i can guarantee a perfect stable refresh rate up to 144hz without dips, but i have absolutely no ideo how to set up things correctly and im just confused which settings can give me a lowest possible lag with no tearing.
Thanks a lot!

Thanks a lot, the "low lag vsync on" method @144HZ is perfect for me and i dont feel any lag at all.
