AOC G2590PX Does someone recommend it to me?

Post by skri170392 » 08 May 2019, 22:00

Hello, I am considering the AOC G2590PX as an option for my pc, my question is the quality of this because I had the AGON AG271QX and I did not like at all the ag271qx's anti-glare coating was unacceptable a remarkable and disgusting granule and I finished it back. .. I wonder if the same thing happened with the AOC G2590PX ...

G2590PX has dynamic interlace patterns, wich means on moving images you can notice horizontal lines.
I don't think you will be satisfied having this issue.

Exactly! Sadly like Matrix said, most of the models with these new AUO 24,5 panels have this problem. It is more obvious on the 60hz/75hz models (like the Asus VG255H or AOC G2590) and 144hz models (like the AOC G2590PX or Asus VG258Q/R).

Not as noticeable, but you can find it, on the 24,5 240hz models.

These new AUO 24,5 panels wich I suspect are the same for every refresh (60hz/144hz panels might be bad bins from the 240hz ones) top out what TN technology can do tho. They have the best contrast you will ever see on TN panels, they suffer from minimal to non existant backlight bleed and the viewing angles are very good for TN. So is the coating and the colours overall. It has drawbacks tho, being the interlace patterns and the overdrive, wich is hard to control without overshoot. Most 24,5 models suffer from more overshoot problems than the old panels.

With that being said, you might not notice this. Also be aware 24,5 starts to be too big for 1080p imo. Maybe you only notice that side by side with a monitor with more PPI.

There are new high refresh panels coming soon, and smaller. Specifically the LG 24GL600F wich will use a 144hz TN 23,6 inches panel (perfect for 1080p and competitive gaming imo):

There´s also a new Asus model coming up, but no one can confirm yet its panel, but it is 24 inches max:

ASUS VG248QG 165hz with 0,5ms response time - https://www.asus.com/Monitors/VG248QG/

For old alternatives with an outdated (but refined) panels, you have ViewSonic XG2402 or XG240R (masterpieces).

On Asus site, they don't mention "GameFast Input technology" for VG248QG.
I don't think it's a mistake and they forgot to write that, just that it's not implemented. If this is the case, expect higher input lag.

True, I noticed that too and talked about it on another thread. That technology also doesn´t apply for every port on the monitors. For example, Asus XG258Q and XG248Q are slower with HDMI 2.0 compared to the DisplayPort. I always thought GameFast Input technology was a markting thing, until I actually tried it

and the other alternative to the aoc g2590px that I have is the Asus MG248QR would be the asus better option than the aoc since in my country the 2 count 260 usd $ or Viewsonic XG2701 which is the only one in my country right now 353Usd$
