High-Speed 240FPS Flickin' - Which Monitor?

Post by NDUS » 12 Aug 2019, 16:18

I've been playing on an XL2540 for a couple years. It is nice, but I didn't anticipate the level of motion blur still being so high when performing high speed flicks in FPS games. I cannot see what is happening at all during the actual flick - and my aiming style is all flicks. This is a monitor with no motion blur reduction when running at 240hz.

I know some modern 240hz monitors can actually do motion blur reduction while running at 240fps. Does anyone have a recommendation on which in particular provides the best clarity? Is the difference dramatic compared to un-strobed operation? I'd especially like to hear the testimony of someone who has seen various 240hz monitors in-person.

If I could find one of those ye olde 270hz ones (that are nowadays all cooped up in universities for human reaction testing) I'd use it.

I wonder why SED monitors never took off. I assume it's because of money and bullshit.

Probably because we are a minority. Majority doesn't care about input lag are motion clarity
