m4gg0t, no idea, can't see a review for that Acer.
Specs are the same except Acer has G-Sync module wich makes it more expensive.
The Acer should be fast so the difference might be in how overdrive looks.

On Amazon DE they about the same price. From what I've read about the 240Hz version the overdrive is pretty good, so I'm guessing the 144Hz should be about the same.

Yeah, price is the same. I ask about this, because Q is sold by a shop which they also sell a warranty zero defective pixel, and Qr by amazon. The big difference being input lag

If i cap to 120hz-144hz instead of 165hz native, because i only have a gtx 1070
It wont be a problem ? I read somewhere, that it may not be optimized for

Edit: i read, on this forum, the VG258 have also Interlace pattern artifacts. Same as gp2590px ?

megatone, I tried 144hz and it seems ok, don't know about 120. 165 will give the fastest response time.
Why do you want to use lower than 165? Your card will work.

Don't worry about defective pixel, haven't heard anyone complaining about dead pixels with this monitor.

Battlenonsense has a video using VG258Q and Nvidia, and not using FreeSync it added 10ms of input lag. I would get VG258QR to be safe.

Interlace pattern artifacts are caused by the panel. I haven't noticed them, maybe depends on the conditions.

Hello guys! English is not my native language so I hope you will understand me.
3-4 days ago I bought this monitor. It was good in every aspect, no blur, no ghosting.

But on the second day it appeared:

I`m ok with that bleeds ( not sure its right word for that ) on the edge of the display. But what is this shit in the center?

Just a little input about the vertical lines. I have them too on my XN253QP as well as on my PG278Q back home. Seems to be a normal thing with these TN panels from AUO. Also my XN253QP has no backlight bleed or any banding, seems to be a perfect panel except for the fact that it has a dead pixel and a long vertical line of dead pixels on the left side of the screen. Which is a shame.

Innodjen, seems like a defective unit.
Don't know what that is but I don't have that and mine doesn't bleed.

Hi,

I'm sorry for the hijack, but is there a thread containing recommended settings for the VG258QR?
