I believe my next monitor will be based on newer "0,5ms" panel, either 1080 or 1440p one. Not sure XL2740 worth buying from LG today in late 2019. You are a monitor geek, I'm not, and I just feel easy if even XL2740 does have this minor edge over LG.

From a competitive gaming basis, I also feel how results improve due to training and gaming experience, and see a very minor edge how they improve due to hardware upgrades.

Yes, maybe in some time I will see... but I was even hard to tell does last Nvidia low lag Ultra does matter or not. Current edge it is giving at 300+fps 240hz is rather small. So I cheer just playing and training, and waiting for next big things to arrive and upgrade to 8-)

Yeah, buying the XL2740 wouldn't be worth it at this point, wise decision with waiting for the 0.5ms 240hz panels!
Those will be even better.

And you're right, if the goal is to get better, even a basic 144hz monitor would get the job done.

I'd say just wait until a new Benq display comes out with those 0,5ms response time panels... that would surely warrant an upgrade, not sure about the 2540... depends on how competitive u are.

Well, I'm not professional but I play esea and I invest a lot of hours and training and I still want to improve. I love to test mouses and monitors. Many pros uses this benq and says it's awesome. I've tested xl2411p and its not so awesome as many people says. Also tested zowie Ec2b and its trash so Im not sure if upgrade to benq or wait new monitors. That's why I'm asking.
This forum is so good.

I'm really happy with how this monitor manages to handle motion with it's "1ms Motion Blur Reduction" strobe.

However, it's disabled by the menu at 60Hz and this makes it pointless for 60Hz content (all consoles, 1080p@60 videos, retro games, etc).

So far my only solution has been RetroArch's "blank frame insertion" at 120Hz but it's a bit buggy at times and it doesn't cover any other 60Hz content. I'd love to watch 60fps videos with fluid motion, I don't mind the flicker!

Are there any software solutions for windows or a custom firmware that will enable strobing at 60Hz?

So since LG don't want to help us, we have to find a different way.
We need to make this problem BIG.

Best thing would be, if a big tech youtuber would make a video about it.
Or some way to get LG to actually care about it...

If it gets enough attention LG has to do something about it.

EDIT: Shit is getting hilarious.

I'm starting to get more stutters now. It was working flawlessy for a few months but it's rare to get a CSGO game or even Rocket League in 240hz without a bit of stutter. What a shame that LG hasn't released a firmware update for this.

I will more than likely not buy another LG panel again or even an OEM one if I can avoid it.

All my hopes died, that LG will do something about.

Anyway, do you use a custom resolution as stated in the first post ?
If so, what settings are you using ? And are your settings being applied even ?
