If this graph does not lie, then something is wrong with my system.
So what you are saying is that you are not getting an auto-cap with NULL in Fortnite and Battlefield (Battlefield 5?), correct?

I haven't tested those games myself with NULL, but I'm guessing if a game doesn't support external manipulation of the pre-rendered frames queue, NULL's auto-cap won't work either.

As a side note, DX12 and Vulkan do not currently support NULL.

I get auto-cap only if in nvcp v-sync on.
if in nvcp v-sync off or auto i don't get auto-cap.

maybe this is the behavior of wddm 2.1.

Nvidia does recommend you use NVCP V-SYNC with G-SYNC + NULL, probably for this very reason, but this might be game specific. Some games may not work with the auto-cap behavior when using in-game V-SYNC vs. NVCP V-SYNC.

I can't say for certain, because I haven't tested it in Fortnite or Battlefield.

That said, I just launched Overwatch, and using G-SYNC + in-game V-SYNC + NULL, it did auto-cap to ~138-139 FPS for me.

TL;DR:

For users who know nothing about g-sync and capping, NULL helps. For users who have read the GSYNC 101 articles, it doesn't because they already know how to set things up to get the best possible latency, lower than NULL.

Hi, i mainly play PUBG on my pc and this is my configuration:

Ryzen 5 1600x @ 3.9 Ghz
2x8GB DDR4 3000 Mhz cl15
Nvidia 1060 3GB with latest drivers 441.08
AOC G2460VQ6 1920x1080 75 Hz Freesync (FreeSync range is until max 75 hz freq)
Windows 10 latest version (i enabled excellent performance on ParkControl -> i don't care about power saving features)
RTSS latest version installed

Basically, i would like to know if based on my configuration i should do or not:

- enable G-Sync compatibility (it seems to work ok on my system i can see the nvidia pendulum demo and i can tell the difference)
- enable VSYNC nvcp OR In-game vsync?
- limit 72 fps inside the game (there is option) OR use RTSS and limit to 72 OR just uncap fps (enabling Ultra Low Latency)
- enable Ultra Low Latency or just use On (with ultra should i just uncap fps? it seems my fps get capped automatically at 73 enabing ultra)
- use 1000 hz mouse settings or 500 hz is better (logitech g403 hero sensor @ 800 dpi)

i dont care about other games i just play this game somewhat seriously and i just want the best vision and lowest input lag. My settings on pubg are low enough to have 72-73 fps all the time at native resolution of 1920x1080 75 hz (besides some dropdown on maps like vikendi on rare occasions -> never going down lowest freesync range though).

As for "Ultra" Low Latency Mode, refer to this post:

Regarding Low Latency Mode "Ultra" vs. "On" when used in conjunction with G-SYNC + V-SYNC + -3 minimum FPS limit, I'd currently recommend "On" for two reasons:

1. "On" should have the same effect as "Ultra" in compatible games (that don't already have a MPRF queue of "1") in reducing the pre-rendered frames queue and input lag by up to 1 frame whenever your system's framerate drops below your set FPS limit vs. "Off."

2. Since "Ultra" non-optionally auto-caps the FPS at lower values than you can manually set with an FPS limiter, for the direct purposes of point "1" above, you'd have to set your FPS limiter below that when using "Ultra" to prevent it from being the framerate's limiting factor, and allow the in-game (or RTSS) limiter to take effect. At 144Hz, you would need to cap a couple frames below 138, which isn't a big deal, but at 240Hz, "Ultra" will auto-cap the FPS to 224 FPS, which I find a little excessive, so "On" which doesn't auto-cap, but should still reduce the pre-rendered frames queue by the same amount as "Ultra" in GPU-bound situations (within the G-SYNC range) is more suited to such a setup.

So, basically since my monitor is a s****y 75 hz should i choose ultra? i don't understand... :((( Also, is pubg compatible game for point n°1. Im dizzy :shock:

For the lowest input lag, if you can keep your framerate at your FPS limit 99% of the time and you're using G-SYNC + V-SYNC + in-game limit of 72 FPS, you don't need Low Latency Mode. If your framerate sometimes drops below your FPS limit, in addition to the above, set Low Latency Mode to "On."

Low Latency Mode only reduces input lag when you're framerate is fluctuating and causing your GPU usage to max out.

As for PUBG being compatible with Low Latency Mode, if it is auto-capping the FPS with "Ultra," then the answer is probably yes. Either way, it's typically safe to leave "Low Latency Mode" to "On" globally for all games.
