XF252Q Overclocking Software LOCKED!

Talk about overclocking displays at a higher refresh rate. This includes homebrew, 165Hz, QNIX, Catleap, Overlord Tempest, SEIKI displays, certain HDTVs, and other overclockable displays.

XF252Q Overclocking Software LOCKED!

Post by B1GGS » 02 Sep 2019, 22:57

When attempting to overclock my XF252Q to 241hz the monitor goes black and displays something like "unsupported input" in BIG RED letters.

I'm very disappointed at Acer for this one.

I Have a XF250Q and i can overclock it to 255hz STABLE!! (runs 257hz but blinks).

I had high hopes the XF252Q would overclock nicely and Acer let us down. EVEN MY PG258Q can overclock to 241hz.

SO maybe there is away to flash a new monitor firmware to GET RID of this soft lock.

A bit disappointed that this new TN panels aren't 300Hz considering the response times are almost cut in half from first 240hz ones, i mean its been 3 years and small increments is better than nothing.

interesting, where you saw that?

tftcentral's measurement can't agree with this:
Asus PG258Q (1st gen 240hz tn lcd panel):

Acer XF252Q (2nd gen 240hz tn lcd panel):

Enough to warrant a 60hz bump, but its almost half and depends on the brand and overdrive cause that asus seems like one of the best first gen 240hz tn

I want 300hz too because I play QuakeWorld but that difference can't be named "the response times are almost cut in half from first 240hz ones". Never mind.

Hey man, do you remember the XF250Q 255 hz overclock settings? Would be very much interested in them.

I have been searching these forums and others but I'm still left wondering. Is there any tuning for a XF252 that can be done to improve clarity or other settings for competitive gaming?
