benq xl2411p overclocking help

Talk about overclocking displays at a higher refresh rate. This includes homebrew, 165Hz, QNIX, Catleap, Overlord Tempest, SEIKI displays, certain HDTVs, and other overclockable displays.

I have the same monitor and am hitting the same limit but with an AMD card. I'm presuming you're using DisplayPort with the cable that came with the monitor, same as I am doing.
I'm not entirely sure as to why but 160hz seems to be a limit of some part of the setup. The AMD drivers don't let me create a custom resolution past 159hz, saying the resolution is not supported by my monitor.
Pixel Clock Patch didn't affect this limit.

Check the specs of your GPU maybe?
My GPU (RX 580) supports DisplayPort 1.4 and the monitor is DP 1.2 so up to 240hz @ 1080p should be possible.
I am starting to believe it could be the cable but more research is needed

One theory -- it might also be the GPU stubbornly sticking to 8bpc instead of 6bpc -- NVIDIA cards, with custom resolution created, automatically switch to 6bpc during these extreme overclocks.

I have a XL2411P and RX 590 and tried overlocking too. I can get past the out of range error easily of course by my display also looks like glitchy 'shattered glass'. I tried switching to 6bpc through AMD display settings and it still does not work. Hoping there's a solution or am I just unlucky with my XL2411P.

I just fixed the problem by turning AMA off, now I can go to higher frame rates without the problem with my monitor.

It seems like many AMD users are having more difficulty than NVIDIA. Try:
-- Use Instant mode
-- Turn AMA off
-- Try a slightly lower refresh rate, e.g. 200Hz instead of 220Hz.

For me, AMA still works fine without glitching, but this may be monitor-specific.
