Because you intend to use strobing? I will stick to TN as well (which is also why I no longer await the release of the XV253QX, which is actually already available in some countries), but I think I will stick with 240Hz and G-Sync, so I’m wondering if it’s even worth waiting for the XL2546S at this point instead of going for the XN253QX...

Yeah I don't use G-sync. I'd rather have good strobing @ 240hz without losing brightness.

Individual preference. If your priority is latency, 240Hz strobing may have pros that exceeds the cons. Personally, I'm strobe-quality priority, so 120Hz strobing at 240Hz is massively better -- lower crosstalk than 120Hz strobing at 144Hz. The best visual CRT-clarity experience can be had with low-Hz strobing on high-Hz monitors, since refresh rate headroom is good for reducing strobe crosstalk.

My preference as well,i don't think i will improve much if at all from the difference of ms from my current monitor, to be honest i think i would be happy with 144hz with 0 blur, near-perfect clarity experience more so than a 240hz 0.00001 ms monitor

For purists of motion blur reduction, this is important to know:
-- 120Hz strobing on a 240Hz monitor can be vastly superior to 120Hz strobing on a 144Hz monitor.

Therefore:
-- Get 240Hz if you want improved strobe quality at 120Hz.

That's why 240Hz IPS ViewSonic XG270 (at 120Hz strobe) has less strobe crosstalk than 144Hz TN LightBoost (at 120Hz strobe). It's almost unheard of having IPS panels with slightly less strobe crosstalk than TN panels, as complimented by users.

Yes, it means having to buy 240Hz display just to get better-quality 120Hz strobing (Low-crosstalk IPS strobing with better colors).

It depends on your priorities, but it's important to know that refresh rate headroom is healthy for improved strobe quality.

If strobing is not important to you, then this information doesn't matter as much.

Oh I am aware of this (because iirc you’ve mentioned it before), but I would first want to try 240Hz (coming from 144Hz. obviously the jump wouldn’t be as noticeable as going from 60 to 144, but I was told it is still noticeable), the strobing can be a bonus. also for unstable games (like Fn and what not) I would want G-Sync for sure. So I would still stick around to wait for the XL2546S if I knew that in addition to the DyAc, I would get the same level of G-Sync quality. If so, I’d get it and be able to alternate to see whether I Iike strobing better or 240Hz+Gsync (for unstable games, or gsync off for stable ones).

I play first person shooters like Apex and this approach intrigues me. I currently have an Asus VG248QE but I'm looking to upgrade and would love a monitor that does a higher refresh while still strobing.

The options for 240hz+ monitors seem endless and I'm a bit overwhelmed while trying to decide, even after reading through a lot of this forum.

They don't do that.
That is the wrong question to ask.

The approach is.
1. Choose a 240Hz monitor
2. Intentionally use 120Hz (essentially underclock to reduce strobe crosstalk)
3. Enable strobing (PureXP+)

Underclocked refresh rates are very good for strobe crosstalk.

So you still have access to the following:
(A) 240Hz without strobing
(B) 240Hz strobing at 240Hz (with more strobe crosstalk)
(C) 120Hz strobing at 120Hz (with less strobe crosstalk)

You can already do (A) or (B) or(C) with many of the same monitors, such as ViewSonic XG270 or BenQ XL2546 or other models.
