240hz 1440p beast - "The product you are looking for is no longer available, here is a suggested alternative."

When trying to track down the 240hz 1440p Lenovo Legion Y27gq-25, on the official Lenovo website it says the above.

There apparently was minimal marketing/advertising done for this monitor.

This monitor is only sold in like a select few countries in Europe.

I've heard amazing things about this monitor, even from a post from our very own blur busting Chief - so what gives?

Why are they seemingly trying so hard to kill their own product? one that was very well received.

Is the apparently grainy anti glare coating that some people couldn't stand, or the fan being too loud in it for some - enough for recalls or something? Are they looking to make better versions to release worldwide after a brief trial, or is there some other reason they're seemingly stifling it?

Especially now that 240hz 1440p is here, with Nvidias next gen GPUs around the corner to power it.

1080p is now going the way of 60fps and the monitor in question seems to again be a great version of the next era - 240hz 1440p.

So does anyone know why it's so hard and so rare to track these down and why there was little marketing done?

I personally find it surprising too -- I've been really wanting 1440p 240Hz to arrive -- especially a strobed option.

The thing is, this specific monitor has already arrived - kinda, quietly, in a couple certain countries, with other main countries like US no longer available.

What an entrance for the next generation tech.

it's matter of preference but why not just WAIT until this nov/dec and get the IPS 240hz 1440p Eve Spectrum?

I remember i used to own the Omen x 27 and whenever i recline my chair to relax i saw horrible color shift. I'm also seeing a circular darkness on the corners for some weird reason and colors are kinda derpy. I dont' get how people would buy TN when IPS nowadays pretty much does the same job but keep its accurate colors and excellent viewing angles.

I literally had to keep my HEAD STRAIGHT forward FACING the monitor from the front to not see any color shifts.

i' m a critical thinker and i don't see the reason to ever buy TN when there are IPS monitors that can basically match its main purpose and still keep great color accuracy and viewing angles.

THen again, that 360hz TN monitor coming out this year, i'm tempted to buy. THat I will give an exception to

Why get TN over IPS?

Erm, because in this specific case we're talking about the cutting edge tech of 240hz 1440p, where it's not like you can browse a big range and get exactly what you want, from panel to motion blur reduction tech, etc?

In fact why settle for anything less than an IPS, 240hz, 1440p, 40hz boost, 10 bit color, ELMB, HDR, G-sync, 0.5ms monitor?

Didn't even know that monitor existed and since it hasn't even been released yet, it hasn't been tested.

The only current ones i'm aware of are:

AOC AG273QZ
Lenovo Legion Y27gq-25
Omen 27 X

While hearing the best about the Lenovo (the fan and antiglare being nitpicky imo, though grainy antiglare could have more of an impact - why would they make great monitors and put such crap over them?)

Maybe it won't be as important to pick one up until Nvidias next line of GPU release to power it, giving ample time and excuse to see what the future brings in this section. But i still hear awesome things about the Lenovo haha.

I didn't even think about it but maybe the current situation in the world disrupted production and that's why they're having problems, even though the others seemed to not have any and they haven't released anything saying as much, etc.
