HI, can someone who tried both the newer generation of 0.5ms 240hz TN panels (xf252q, kd25f, xl2546s..) and the old one give feedback about how different they look IRL? (my main concern is that 1ms is enough for 144hz but maybe a limiting factor for 240, hence the benefit from a faster panel)
Personally i'm stuck with a 75hz and want to upgrade to a zowie XL2546, i can't get the newer xl2546s for at least a month after the release where i live so i'd rather grab the older panel if there is no much difference.
Thanks for any inputs!
0.5ms vs 1ms 240hz TN: Any visible difference?
Re: 0.5ms vs 1ms 240hz TN: Any visible difference?
also curious about this
Re: 0.5ms vs 1ms 240hz TN: Any visible difference?
Same or almost same for me. BenQ XL2540 and Acer XF252Q.
Re: 0.5ms vs 1ms 240hz TN: Any visible difference?
I had BenQ XL2540 then Alienware AW2518HF, then LG 27GK750F, and the last was Acer XF252QX. Now I have Asus VG279QM. Response time of all 240 TN looks the same for me, but in term of input latency my opinion that VG279QM>Acer XF252Q>AW2518HF>27GK750F>XL2540. Guess xl2546s will be the same as XF252QX, but it's not exactly.

Re: 0.5ms vs 1ms 240hz TN: Any visible difference?
Ideally, 0.5ms vs 1.0ms difference is 1 pixel for every 2000 pixels/sec.
But in real world, real GtG(100%) may vary a lot from this — however, 0.5ms GtG panels will usually have a better looking “GtG heatmap” than 1ms or 2ms GtG panels (colors are less likely to ghost during reduced overdrive settings). For example, a ghosting/corona-free 4ms GtG (without overdrive) is sometimes much easier to achieve on a 0.5ms GtG panel than a 1.0ms GtG panel.
Some people have observed that 0.5ms helps the following:
— Noticeably better behavior at mid frame rates (e.g. 144fps at 240Hz)
— Less ghosting/corona at reduced overdrive settings (native GtG is faster even if not 0.5ms vs 1.0ms)
— Less strobe crosstalk at higher refresh rates
There more information found in Pixel Response FAQ: GtG versus MPRT
That said, the best 1ms GtG panels can be better than the worst 0.5ms GtG panels. There are over 60,000 different GtG numbers for a single screen, and the single GtG number is simply an average only.

Re: 0.5ms vs 1ms 240hz TN: Any visible difference?
I saw a lot of difference from my previous AW2518H to my current Omenx25f in terms of responsiveness and input lag. So yes the difference is there if you search for it. If you don't, get the one with the best price / deal. From 75 hz to 240 hz you will be a happy man anyways.

I think you'll notice input lag differences more than anything else.

Thank you all for the inputs, since it will not be locally available for 2+ months i just went with the 4XL2546.
