I ALWAYS return all monitors that have dead/stuck pixels or bad back light bleed. I do not pay good money for products that are less than excellent in quality. If you can't tell the difference in input lag by playing games, then either there is no difference or you are never going to be able to tell the difference. It sounds like they are on par with each other. I can pretty much tell right away if a monitor has more input lag, it feels more "floaty".ashrr wrote: ↑10 Jun 2020, 13:17So after using the omen for a few days I do prefer it over the PG258Q for gaming but I don't think it's worth the price I paid. If it was around £400 I could look past the grainy coating and the poor uniformity but at £550 I expected better. I'm still not sure if I should just return it or get it replaced and hope the new one has better uniformity and 0 dead pixels since mine has 2.
What's a good way to compare input lag between these two monitors? I've tried using stopwatch from flatpanels.dk and taking pictures with a shutter speed of 1/4000 and the PG258Q is either the same or 10ms faster which doesn't seem right. I have to run both monitors at 1080p 240hz (tried gpu no scaling and display no scaling) when duplicating the displays tho so that could be causing some issues.
Just got the Omen x 27. Should I keep it?

Got the Omen X 27 in mid may here.
IMO it's great if you can run games at 1440p and 240hz. With Apex it needs to be capped to 190 but the fluidity still kicks in over 180fps, unless your mouse sensitivity is insanely high or you play fast twitch shooters like Overwatch.
The panel feels like it has imperciveable input lag, but if you're not happy about the colors there is the Odyssey G7 27" and 32" coming from Samsung on July 1st. That's a 240hz, 1440p VA panel with 1ms GtG response times and advertised 2ms input lag. It uses their new QLED panel tech but if it's better than something like the Omen X 27 on motion clarity remains to see.
I'd keep the Omen around until the G7 launches if you can though. Mine has a 60 day open purchase so I might order the G7 and test it.

Yh if I was 100% sure I was going to keep I would've asked for a replacement 10 minutes after getting it. It's honestly quite difficult to tell, all I know is I've been aiming better with this monitor than I ever have with the PG258Q which is why this is so difficult.STOPchris wrote: ↑10 Jun 2020, 13:58I ALWAYS return all monitors that have dead/stuck pixels or bad back light bleed. The G7 does look pretty good. Amazon has it at £450 pre-order but I'll wait for the reviews. What's level 4 overdrive like on your monitor? Hardware unboxed shows that it should have a avg G2G of 1.77ms from around 3.2ms on level 3 but for me motion clarity is pretty much the same. I'm thinking they changed something with a firmware update.starflame wrote: ↑10 Jun 2020, 16:29Got the Omen X 27 in mid may here.

I have just one issue with OLED, and it's a VERY big issue, image retention.ashrr wrote: ↑11 Jun 2020, 10:07Yh if I was 100% sure I was going to keep I would've asked for a replacement 10 minutes after getting it.
