Awesome to hear. Thanks for the confirmation on that.

the icc profile(ICM) is INSIDE the monitor driver download. The ICM profile is in that zipped folder, that's the only one you need. Once you right click and install it, go to display settings, display propeties, colors and add that ICM profile as your default color profile. the only thing you need to do afterwards is adjust the brightness level down to 30 for GENERAL computer use, or 90 if you intend to use it for gaming

for the GAMING OSD(gaming app) use this link. u dont' have to register

https://www.msi.com/Monitor/support/Opt ... wn-utility

select which operating system you are using(i'm using windows 10 at 64bit). Then the gaming OSD is available to download. Make sure you connect the USB cable that came with your monitor to be able to use it.
Thanks for the clarification on this.

I'm on both these today and will report back.

Meanwhile - what are all the other settings I need to do with the other controls via the in-monitor settings, Nvidia Control panel and also Windows Settings ? The ones mainly for lowest input lag, best response, etc.. As it seems this profile thing here is mainly about color and looks right ?

I been trying to PM you, but its not going through. Anyone else notice that ? PM's just hang in outbox.

1.91ms g2g. 12.5% overshoot @280hz refresh 80 OD. 0.5ms g2g 75% overshoot at OD 100

That shatters the fastest TN and it has a +40 hz refresh rate advantage

The fastest TN has been shattered(nitro xv253q/omen x25f) and the overshoot is feint to the point where the trade off of MPRT and sharpness of g2g not cause distraction

The vg259qm broke records for a playable response time. Btw u dont have a choice at 280hz picking 80 OD bcuz ghosting and smearing isnt worth it over feint overshoot that dissipates very fast
,
Also elmb sync puts the nail in the coffin if u want more.motion clarity, no tearing and microstutters and no ovrshoot. With slight input lag

This is contingent if u are able to get fps above 265hz.

U could revert to 60 od but the smearing and less sharpness isnt worth it over the feint overshoot. Overall everything has a trade off. U have to sacr8fice one thing to get the other.

is the 259QM good if you can some games 240, but some 150? (apex and warzone at 150, but overwatch csgo rocket league 240+)

I just ordered the VG259QM from Amazon last night. I've been keeping an eye on some of these monitors the last week or so. The MAG251RX and AW2521HF are hardly available or they are a bit expensive but I got the VG259QM for $320. Hopefully I made the right decision with this one. I was also interested in the Viewsonic XG270 but it's more expensive and I'm not sure if i will like 27 inch. This will be my first 240hz IPS monitor. I'm going to try it and see how I like it for now. If Viewsonic releases a 24 version or better monitors comes out then I might reconsider in the future.

One question about the VG259QM. I don't think it comes with a Displayport cable. Can you get 280hz with HDMI cable or should i get a Displayport cable and should i get 1.2 or 1.4?

Looking forward to the detailed information about the VG259QM.
The monitor does come with both a display and hdmi port, at least mine did.

Alright thanks. I read somewhere that it didn't include a displayport cable which seemed odd.

You can get 280hz only with DisplayPort, HDMI is limited to 240hz.
I think this monitor has a DP 1.2 port, I'm using a DP 1.4 vesa certified because I'd rather not use stock cables.

74tm and axaro1: thanks for clarifying. I read somewhere that it didn't come with a displayport cable which confused me.

What is the difference between DP 1.2 and 1.4? does 1.4 have certain advantages or uses?

Also how do you guys like the monitor so far?..how's the input lag on it? anyone plays fps games like quake live..have you guys tried running it using 280hz? I'm wondering if it can be used with quake live because the maxfps is 250.

DP 1.2 is 21.6 Gbps, DP 1.4 is 32.40 Gbps.
This monitor supports DP 1.2 so 1.4 is using 1.2's bandwith, there is no benefit in using a newer/faster DP cable.
I bought it just for future proofing.

The input lag is extremely low.
If you can manually tweak the config file of Quake (if there is one) maybe 280hz is achievable, Idk I've never played that game.
I can't consistently reach 280fps in the games I play so I stick to 240hz (so I don't have fps fluctuations messing with my muscle memory, which is something I notice).
The VG259QM works well at 280hz, there's barely any overshoot with OD80 which seems more aggressive than on the VG279QM at this refresh rate.
It's definitely usable.

What I'm using right now is 240hz OD40, it's slightly better than OD60

If your using OD40 instead OD60 @240hz isnt it slower then OD60? Why you dont choose OD60?
