Do you have Gsync turned on? How about "adaptive sync" in the monitor's OSD? I believe my issue here was because of Gsync: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=6192&p=49523#p49523

It was flickering on both my PG258Q and my new XB253Q GX. It hasn't flickered since I completely turned off Adaptive Sync in the monitor's OSD.

Windows 7 doesn't have freesync support, Win10 I tried it both on and off.

In all honesty, the problem with the monitor is somewhat similar to the Acer Predator X35 and PG35VQ which ended up getting fixed via a firmware update and those issues would occur due to certain colour patterns. From what I mostly gather from others who have the issue it seems to be "dark mode" websites.

When this specific issue happens there are vertical interlaces lines going across the entire monitor and the longer you leave the imagery up the harder it ends up "sticking", thats why in the other persons picture its all interlaced. Its a super weird issue and more people are mentioning it as they get their hands on these 240hz IPS monitors so hard to say when info will actually come out about a true fix or if it is x% are defected.

I wouldn't get your hopes up, my PG258Q still has the occasional line down the middle issue that WAS determined to be Gsync and fixed with firmware updates on select monitors (to be clear, the PG258Q was NOT one of the lucky few to get the fix). There's very little accountability with the monitor industry.

Yea Im currently in the process of returning it because I don't really want to wait for them to work out the issue and fix it.

I wish I had the time/energy to try work out exactly what causes it and make a ICC profile that just always offset whatever colour so it could never happen.

I really can't decide between this and the Asus VG259QM. The MSI is out of the picture because I can't really stand the design tbh
I'll be playing above 200 fps 90% of the time. I'm leaning towards this acer but it would be good to read a review where constant 240 fps performance is tested as well as fluctuating fps.

I did notice a small difference but I also notice the game tends to skip more even with Gsync. So I don't really use it.

If you turn off "Adaptive Sync" in the monitor settings, you get a very noticeable improvement with input lag. With my previous Gsync module monitors, all you have to do is disable it in the Nvidia Control panel and you get the improvement in input lag from not having Gsync enabled. With the XB253Q GX, you need to disable "Adaptive Sync" in the monitor's OSD to get the full input lag improvement.

Edit 2: I'm RUNNING 240hz 10 bit on the VG259QM!!!
I was trying to follow this guide (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kl-Ata9ql2A)
I opened CRU, I clicked on the (active) profile and deleted the main detailed resolution, mine was 1920x1080 60hz.
I was trying LCD Reduced 240hz, after setting it and clicking on restart64 in the CRU package it didn't work and CRU automatically set it from LCD reduced to Manual for some reason.
To my surprise both the monitor OSD and W10 are currently saying that the monitor is running at 240hz 10bit and I'm already noticing a good improvement in colors, which is something I wasn't expecting.
It used to automatically revert to 8 bit after I set it to 10 bit in the Amd Radeon Software, I'll try to restart the PC and see if it retains 10 bit colors.

I watched some 10 bit content with MPC-Be+MadVR (I pressed CTRL+J to make sure D3D11 and P010 are 10 bit) and I must say that 10 bit truly turn this monitor colors on Racing mode from a 7/10 to a 9/10.
Racing Mode + 10 bit + icm profile is finally showing the potential of this panel.

Edit 4 Final: 10bit 280hz doesn't work but making a detailed resolution seems snappier idk why.

Can confirm, 10bit 240hz also seems to work on Acer XV253QX. 12bit works on 120hz.

Hey, I also got this same problem and looked on internet for some info about it. Tried also some feedback from Acer support and they suggested to install the latest driver for the monitor, after i did it that issue didn't appear again. My workarround when this happen is change the HDR settings in windows/monitor, after a few changes, the screen back to normal. If you still with the monitor i suggest you do the same. And for sure, if the problem came back even if the driver install I'll notice here

Driver didn't fix the issue for me but using their colour profile provided with the driver however did stop the issue from happening because it tweaks the colours a tiny bit so the colour pattern that caused the issue was no longer there.

So I still feel its possible to run into the issue unless their colour profile completely nukes whatever specific colour that causes the issue.

It is such a good monitor but its so sad the panel has this issue, I can't really work past it

Now a good point, I also installed and set up the Profile Color for XB253Q at the same time I installed the driver, maybe I test latter if I use only the driver with another color profile I have some screen problem, but for now everything is going well

Really liked the monitor btw! - but I agree, it's not cool pay for a product and you need to work around it by yourself to use. If it's necessary, at least they must provide a better manual for they product.

Well, the problem still ocurring. But now I think i have a name for it, maybe it's image retetion, some pages say it's normal for some kinds of panels, but I dont think it's healthy or commum to have it constantly, and dont make sense pay +-$300 on a monitor to have it turned off while your image get rest...

Have you had this with your XB3 monitors ? When this monitor came to brazil shopping, some reviews videos was sent on youtube, and we can see a great number from buyers having this Image Persistence, can I think about it be a lote manufacter problem ? Users also reported that even making an RMA the product had the problem.

Adaptive sync off and ultra low latency mode on. I also have low latency mode on and set to ultra in the Nvidia Control Panel.
