Just got my Xl2546S today, kind of disappointed by the viewing angles mostly the vertical ones. It feels like the top of the screen is much darker to the point where I cant tell which tab im on while using themed google chrome. It feels like your eyes have to be perpendicular to the monitor to not notice a shift in color. However, this is only noticeable in desktop use not so much in game. Also I doubt that this is specific to this panel but rather to the nature of it being a Tn panel. I can't tell since it's been long time since I've used one.
All in all, I don't see why I'd use this over my VG259QM. While the colors on the Zowie aren't that bad, especially considering it is a Tn panel. The colors and viewing angles on the VG259QM are far superior. I have't noticed a difference in blur however, my main game is a Moba (League of Legends) so it might not be the best way to test. I feel like unless you play Fps very competitively go for the 240hz Ips, image quality is just so much better.

If you know how to use reshade:hleV wrote: ↑10 Jul 2020, 12:06One of the first ones I tried. Doesn't work in DayZ fullscreen (works in windowed).Dirty Scrubz wrote: ↑10 Jul 2020, 05:05https://hudsight.com/hleV wrote: ↑10 Jul 2020, 03:21Can you name one which does it properly for fullscreen exclusive?Dirty Scrubz wrote: ↑09 Jul 2020, 22:46No it doesn't but there's 3rd party programs you can use that do the same thing and better.

According to this: https://steamcommunity.com/app/221100/d ... 647167882/ reshade isn't banned but newer versions might not work.
So I suggest trying different versions like the latest Reshade 3 rather than 4 but I don't really know if they work specifically in DayZ https://www.mediafire.com/folder/8ar1jh ... Repository.

ReShade sometimes doesn't work with newer games or results in bans so I'd be weary of using it. I'm not sure if playclaw/hudsight can lead to a ban but since it is a 3rd party tool it's always best to check w/the developer of the game or a subreddit.

People don't buy these TN panels to look at browser tabs, they're aimed squarely at competitive fps players.74tm wrote: ↑10 Jul 2020, 22:04Just got my Xl2546S today, kind of disappointed by the viewing angles mostly the vertical ones. While the main purchasing point for this monitor may be it's performance in game. Some people might consider this option as their main monitor for all uses, like myself. I bought this monitor to play competitively and I thought that sharing my overall experience could help someone make better purchase decision.Dirty Scrubz wrote: ↑11 Jul 2020, 01:25People don't buy these TN panels to look at browser tabs, they're aimed squarely at competitive fps players.

Thank you, this is definitely beneficial. When streaming, I don't even like 2 monitors turned on. I prefer a set and forget and usage for everything ideally.74tm wrote: ↑11 Jul 2020, 14:07While the main purchasing point for this monitor may be it's performance in game. Off but on topic, I wanted to snag one of these for my nephew but he has an eye thing and bad color blindness so he has to have crosshair overlay to play even remotely sort of visually. Never take your eyes for granted folks. Its painful seeing those visually impaired struggle doing the things they love.

You need the 27'. I have it and calibrated correctly, it looks near close to IPS colors on 8bit !!!!!! the 24.5 had 6bit + frc it is not going to look as nice as the 27.

Yeah the XL2746S I have looks close to my LG VA panel. Obviously the VA looks better (it’s a 10 bit panel) and has much better angles (TN angles suck as usual) but the picture quality difference isn't large enough that it makes me wish for IPS or VA.
I'll gladly take the fastest g2g + input lag and top tier dyac+ over IPS + it's angles any day. Plus IPS has its own faults with IPS glow.

the monitor is really not worth the money, it’s better to take a 27-inch version, for normal use outside of games it makes your eyes leak out.
And what is it? Tweak on a $ 500 monitor, zowie, seriously?

I'm personally not a fan of 27-inch, at my monitor distance the 1080p resolution makes pixels too visible while costing an extra $200 AUD here in Australia. It's probably decent if you move your monitor a bit further away but for competitive gaming, 24.5 inch is currently used by all e-sports players except for a select few sponsored to use a 27 inch.
For normal use though, indeed it may take time to get used especially if you've been using something like an IPS/VA beforehand but it's fine for me since my monitor is mainly just for games.
