HELP ME! Asus VG259qm - 144hz Is better to 240hz?
Hi guys, I need help, I have an asus VG259qm monitor less than 2 weeks ago, I am a competitive CSGO player and I want to feel as fluent as possible in the game, my fps range is 175 (sometimes extreme, flashes, molotovs, smokes much people) to 250-309 , its very variable, I tried to use the monitor at 240 Hz, gsync off, ELMB off, 60 and 80 od, and I was not comfortable, I never felt comfortable, my game performance was in decline, I had the idea of lowering the monitor to 144hz, and using it with od 60 and literally everything improved, I felt the fluidity that I felt before on my LG 24GL600F TN panel, why don't I feel better fluidity when I use 240hz? Is this because sometimes my fps are below the monitor's hz? please I need help !!!!
Re: HELP ME! Asus VG259qm - 144hz Is better to 240hz?
try 240Hz with gsync on then also try 144 Hz with gsync off and ELMB-Sync on (so normal not synced strobing)
Gsync could solve the issue with inconsistent frame rate, but ELMB-Sync (no gsync) has the clearest motion to me

thanks bro,
but using gsync doesn't count me the input delay? or something like that I read, I use gsync off, ELMB off, is it better to use ELMB on and gsync on?

- Turn on gsync
- Set FPS_MAX 230 in csgo (make sure ur fps stays 239 or less)

Valve are thugs, i have geforce 2070 super and 3200 mhz ram, it 9600kf 4.3ghz and i have like 240 fps on average. Cs go is pretty old and it used to run on 460 on 300fps. But they broken it with updated and unoptimized maps as usual. And they don't they want you to buy more expensive rig than you really need.tXONE wrote: ↑18 Jul 2020, 00:49Hi guys, I need help, I have an asus VG259qm monitor less than 2 weeks ago, I am a competitive CSGO player and I want to feel as fluent as possible in the game, my fps range is 175 (sometimes extreme, flashes, molotovs, smokes much people) to 250-309 , its very variable, I tried to use the monitor at 240 Hz, gsync off, ELMB off, 60 and 80 od, and I was not comfortable, I never felt comfortable, my game performance was in decline, I had the idea of lowering the monitor to 144hz, and using it with od 60 and literally everything improved, I felt the fluidity that I felt before on my LG 24GL600F TN panel, why don't I feel better fluidity when I use 240hz? Ofc if you will have fps drops: that introduce dynamic input lag and more screen tearing, if you have gsync, it shouldn't be that bad, but still. You want to have ideally more fps than refresh rate. GSYNC is also bad for competitive gaming as it still introduce latency, also don't use ultra low latency mode in nv control panel, it works only if gpu usage sits at 99% all time, otherwise on will give you lower input lag!

Also input lag in cs go is tied to fps. You want unlimited fps, but if you have dynamic fps, than it is bad thing. You need better computer for this...

Ultra latency mode is only if the processor is at 99%?
should i limit my frames to 240 then?

Re: HELP ME! Asus VG259qm - 144hz Is better to 240hz?
If GPU is at 99% then ultra low latency mode will reduce input lag otherwise it might add input lag (not a significant amount). I personally prefer to keep it on at all times.tXONE wrote: ↑22 Jul 2020, 11:58i have i5 9400f and Geforce GTX 1660super 2X8gb 266mhz,PixelDuck87 wrote: ↑21 Jul 2020, 14:27- Turn on Nvidial Ultra low latencytXONE wrote: ↑18 Jul 2020, 00:49Hi guys, I need help, I have an asus VG259qm monitor less than 2 weeks ago, I am a competitive CSGO player and I want to feel as fluent as possible in the game, my fps range is 175 (sometimes extreme, flashes, molotovs, smokes much people) to 250-309 , its very variable, I tried to use the monitor at 240 Hz, gsync off, ELMB off, 60 and 80 od, and I was not comfortable, I never felt comfortable, my game performance was in decline, I had the idea of lowering the monitor to 144hz, and using it with od 60 and literally everything improved, I felt the fluidity that I felt before on my LG 24GL600F TN panel, why don't I feel better fluidity when I use 240hz? For a fluent picture you should turn on gsync/freesync and limit your ingame fps to 3 fps below max refresh rate of your monitor.
