Anyone that used both, which monitor is brighter when using strobing? the XB253Q or MAG251RX?
I finally bought a MAG251RX and received it today. People may say the screen is dim with MBR, but what the hell man, it's actually more than bright enough for me. Almost hurting my eyes just browsing google with a white background haha.
Nice, yeah I seen in reviews people say it's so dim that it's not worth using, guess if I pick one up I'll decide myself.

Okay, after playing with it for a bit in a gaming scenario (cod:mw), the MBR is indeed a bit too dim. The reason I originally thought it was really usable is because it locks the monitor's brightness to 70 but also sets the contrast to 70, which makes everything quite visible. The only problem with contrast=70 is that, well, a lot of already-bright objects get clipped and become completely white so visibility actually is not enough ingame. Setting Contrast between 50 or 60 does make the display a bit too dim to be fully enjoyable and competitive imo, unless you game in a completely dark room at night with no light sources around.

Do you have experience with the Acer too? wonder if that's actually brighter than the MSI with strobing on

CoD is a fps, the Acer is a low input lag IPS monitor with 240hz and good response time, the game should be good

I meant more in term of image quality and anti-blur tech. I’m currently running a low end TN 144Hz monitor and I have issues seeing ennemies because of lack of contrast. (I’m mainly playing warzone, in MP this wouldn’t be an issue)

It's strange, I see people here and on Reddit talk about the image retention or burn-in(which it is not) with the AU Optronics 25" panels but only speak about the Alienware, Acer and MSI and not the Asus. But the issue seems to be with certain patterns of colour or something, I can look at a "problematic" image and lower my contrast and I get the image retention vertical lines at a certain level but if I go above that contrast level the image goes back to normal right away, very odd.
Also those image retention testing sites don't trigger it at all. I'm guessing everyone has the issue with these monitors they just aren't on the right colour profile or looking at the right image to trigger it, or a lot of these panels are actually just faulty.
Also I never seen one post about the VG259QM having this issue, same panel as the others? Maybe just not as popular of a buy? but seems like a lot are sold on Amazon etc.

stevie those intermittent vertical lines are pixel inversion artifacts(pixel walk, pixel dance, etc). It should be invisible to the naked eye unless you are sitting too close to your monitor. There are ways to mitigate this such as usingng custom resolution utility (Cru) and setting it at 239.77hz instead of 240hz. OR simply just sit further away. Reallty, a 24.5" monitor, u shouldn't be sitting closer than 24 inches. since visual acuity is around 28+ inches anyway.

yup, i ranked this monitor(acer predator xb253q gx) as #1 in king of competition. Basically, if someone just wants to win as much as possible, this is the monitor to pick up.

the non existent procressing delay is unique to this brand.

For those curious, the strongest pixel responsiveness is at around 200hz-210hz

OD Off is the optimal overdrive setting. There shouldn't be any asymmetrical blur since OD off is MPRT protected unlike OD standard where there's overshoot. I will post the review soono on my topic
