Monitor refresh rate jumps between 124 and 144 while capped at 140.
Monitor refresh rate jumps between 124 and 144 while capped at 140.
I have g sync and v sync on in nvidia and capped my fps to 140 in game but my monitor refresh rate still goes up to 144 and all the way down to around 124 even though Im able to play with stable 200+ without a cap. The switching is happening within milliseconds. Is this normal?

If you have a G-SYNC Compatible FreeSync display, and you're talking about the built-in refresh rate meter, those are infamously unreliable.Unken wrote: ↑16 Sep 2020, 10:00I have g sync and v sync on in nvidia and capped my fps to 140 in game but my monitor refresh rate still goes up to 144 and all the way down to around 124 even though Im able to play with stable 200+ without a cap. Ah okay, yea that program shows a pretty stable 140 fps. Thanks!jorimt wrote: ↑16 Sep 2020, 14:11If you have a G-SYNC Compatible FreeSync display, and you're talking about the built-in refresh rate meter, those are infamously unreliable.Unken wrote: ↑16 Sep 2020, 10:00I have g sync and v sync on in nvidia and capped my fps to 140 in game but my monitor refresh rate still goes up to 144 and all the way down to around 124 even though Im able to play with stable 200+ without a cap.
