Does HDMI to DP adapter cause input lag?
Does HDMI to DP adapter cause input lag?
I recently bought a monitor which only supports 240hz on DP. However, I plan on using this monitor with the new xbox as well which only has an HDMI input. If I buy a HDMI to DP adapter will this create input lag? Perhaps if I buy an active adapter instead of passive it will not? Any advice appreciated, thanks!
Re: Does HDMI to DP adapter cause input lag?
Yes, the real question is how much, can be 1/sub 1 ms or hundreds of milliseconds and also depends on cable quality and how the adapter works/quality.
Edit: And hdmi to DP has to be an active adapter i think not sure, DP to hdmi can be both.

Actually, an 'active' adapter would give more reason for input lag versus a passive one, if any.

Re: Does HDMI to DP adapter cause input lag?
I think the chief made a comment at one point saying that they generally do add input lag, however a very high quality one shouldn't, or shouldn't add much input lag (I assume he meant like 1ms max or so).
