I started the return process on my Asus PG259QN and purchased an Alienware AW2521H instead. I'll be equipped to provide a subjective comparison when the new monitor arrives.

First, the return is due to a dead pixel is the MIDDLE of the damn screen. I tried everything I could to revive it / fix it in case it was a stuck pixel... but nothing is working. Apparently I'm not the first one with a dead pixel (a quick reddit search indicated someone else went through 2 monitors with issues) so that's why I'm returning it.

I would have exchanged / replaced it for the same monitor except...

I felt that fine tuning & adjustment features on the Asus was limited (or rather, very hard to adjust). For an average user, I like having presets to get me started and I felt like the presets on the Asus weren't very good. I ended up using the Esports mode, adjusting the white balance so it's slightly cooler and the gamma so it's slightly brighter. Then played around with contrast / brightness until I found something I enjoyed.

The thing is... with gaming monitors, it's not always about color accuracy (even though that's great) but rather being able to easily tune the monitor the way you prefer for certain games. When compared to my previous daily driver, the LG 27GK750F-B, I found that the Asus was either too bright or too dark. (And I tried playing around with their version of dark boost but didn't like the results. Ended up setting it to level 3).

Long story short, the colors on the 27GK750F-B aren't good. They aren't accurate.... however i was able to rapidly set up the monitor in a way that I liked. With the Asus, I spend 2 hours tweaking colors and still haven't found something that I like.

Combine that with a dead pixel and I'm done with it.

That said, the 360hz is great. The input lag is great. The monitor is very fast and responsive (more so than the LG 27GK750F-B). In terms of clarity, I find it to be very close (the LG was running in ULMB mode at 240hz) and this is running in normal 360hz mode. I wish I could run strobbing / ULMB / BFI at 360hz but I don't think that's possible with any of these monitors.

tl;dr Returning the Asus, purchased the Alienware version of this panel. Dead pixels suck. 360hz is great. Hopefully the Alienware has better presets / easier to configure color / brightness options.

I've ditched the GTX 970 for a 1660 SUPER. I couldnt take the 240hz on a 360hz panel any longer so I ran out to best buy to pick it up. It's the cheapest card I could justify buying since the 3070s are sold out. Nvidia control panel immediately set refresh rate to 360hz whereas with the 970 I only had 300hz available with poor picture quality. Picture quality is perfect and I'm finally playing csgo at 360hz. I settled on the 1660 SUPER because the 30 series are completely unavailable and the 1660 had display port 1.4. Thanks to everyone who helped me realize it was my GPU.

Everything seems fine except when I turn off the pc, I get the backlight glow from the monitor for a minute or two then it shuts off. This happened regardless of which GPU I was using.

Also, when I used two monitors, I could only get into BIOS from my second monitor connected via HDMI. The Rog Swift only showed display port notice while booting. With the 1660 SUPER, I didn't hook up my second monitor and I could actually access BIOS from boot on the ROG Swift. Not sure why this is happening but I'm just going to stick with one monitor.

Some settings I noticed did not look so great for CSGO. The GSYNC Esports mode uses 2.2 gamma. This washes out the skins and dark areas pretty bad and looks pretty rough regardless of your video settings. I don't know if I tested this mode on the 970 but def noticed it on the 1660 SUPER. Could just be the gamma setting tho. I switched back to racing mode, turned the brightness up and left gamma at 2. This eliminated the problem. Not sure what variable backlight does other than make the screen a little darker when turned off. I just left it on. Other than that, settings are pretty much stock and CSGO looks and feels very snappy.

Maybe one day I will upgrade to a 3070 if they ever become available. But I'd like to say that I'm happy with the 1660 SUPER for the time being.

I just bought the PG259QN, and I didn't like it tbh. The change in fluidness from my previous AW2518HF (240hz) was very small and my perception of responsiveness improvement was negative. I tested that at work in my Macbook Pro 16 (2020 - i9 8 Cores) in Bootcamp in both CSGO (250-500 fps) and human benchmark where my score dropped from ~150-160ms to about ~170-180ms. I will try on my desktop with 9700k and 3080 at night and report my findings. So far, without the Reflex Latency Analyzer is a big waste of money.

Does anyone know how to deselect an OSD menu item like crosshair? I've selected the white dot crosshair and now I don't know how to deselect it and turn it off, I've even read parts of the manual. Thanks

I guess you might have figured it out by now but just select it again and it should disappear, it's that way with my Asus VG248qe
Acer Nitro XV252QF (390HZ) VRB Off, Overdrive: Normal/Extreme) Max Brightness ON.
Asus VG248QE (144HZ)

Screen is pink and green. I have plugged same cable into another monitor and switched out GPUs and the other monitor is fine. Everything points to the monitor unfortunately. What a shame. I guess I will start the RMA process unless anyone can think of a solution.

That doesn't actually turn it off for me. Edit: I just reset all the settings and put it back to my config (racing mode, 35 brightness, variable backlight off)

With default binds, pressing the top button (not the joystick) removes the Gameplus stuff like FPS Counter on my PG259QN.

GPU is GTX 1660 Super ? Occur in all DP ports ? at all monitor frequencies like 240 or 60 ? also with HDMI ? Test disabling GPU overclock.
