Maybe the old dudes eyes aren't sensitive to overshoot because in every review on Extreme OD it's very bad just like how on my 280hz Asus OD 100 is very bad and I can notice it in game. :D
My old AW2518HF has zero to no none overshoot on "fastest" using the RX5700 of the Macbook Pro and a lot of overshoot on my previous 1080ti. The same could be happening here, maybe 3080 has better compatibility or you have a bad manufacturing lot.
These monitors are tested in the reviews, if the UFO shows it has overshoot/corona then it will have overshoot/corona and a % of how much, the difference is if you will notice it or not as some people aren't so sensitive but doesn't change the fact that the Asus 360hz has visible coronas at the 2 faster OD settings and it's shown in multiple reviews, it's not an opinion or your GPU.
Your monitor on all 3 OD settings in the image below, if you don't notice that while around borders while gaming then you aren't sensitive to it, I can easly see it when I set my OD to something similar to that.
Image
I don't know if you have the monitor or just talking about something you only read about.

I had the AW2518HF that have these exact same names for overdrive and it's visible like this picture you posted. There are posts from me with more than 2 years with tricks to fix that by creating custom resolutions, the manufacturing panel to manually adjust OD, enabling free sync and disabling it, and so on. The PG259QN is very different, doesn't have any noticeable inverse ghosting paired with the RTX3080, at least my unit. The guy from the video tested that frame by frame and even measured that.

His concern about the scan-out time being faster than the response time running at 360hz is something to take attention. Can you comment that video, Chief?
Have UFO images of your 360hz monitor? either you got a unicorn or they somehow changed the OD tuning since all the reviews.
That guys video the only ghosting test he did was 3 seconds talking and showing the compare frame rates test, not even the pursuit ghosting camera test.

My opinion of rtings gets lower each review I read. What a mess of a review. It seems like rtings was tryharding at the start circa 2017 to gain a following and now they just sit back and do the same mundane crap while letting stuff go over their head.

"The ASUS PG259QN has a decent resolution and size. The screen might be a bit too small for productivity, and the pixel density is also low, so text and images don't look as sharp. "

Like no shit a 1080p isn't good for productivity. They miss the reason people actually buy these for.

"That said, the 1080p resolution makes it easier for the graphics card to reach higher frame rates."

I hope they realise 1080p is literally the only resolution you can comfortably keep above 360 fps for esports games.

Thx !

To play with 360HZ without overdrive artifacts, response time with overdrive off reach up to 13.7ms, refresh steps 2.77ms, 13.7 / 2.77 = ~5 = 4 refresh cicles of smearing in these slow GtG transitions.

https://www.rtings.com/images/reviews/m ... -large.jpg

1000ms / 13.7 = 73 FPS/Hz is the single strobe spected limit of this monitor without any crosstalk and overdrive artifacts with the GtG transitions measured in this review, because maybe there are others in-betwhen more slow.

Nvidia cap ULMB to 144 and 240Hz only, and remove overdrive control. The disaster is unavoidable.

From a motion blur viewpoint, i'm very dissapointed. If ULMB would have come unlocked, we could have the option of test 60-120 range to try find a good balance :(

At least the 60hz lag isn't horrible like the 280hz Asus', that's good to know.

He tested the PG259QNR, and he measured the response time of multiple overdrive settings.

People here said multiple times not to put on Extreme, but that could not be the case.
His test methodology seems to be more reliable than the users saying that it is bad without any proof.
He didn't mention overshoot, but I don't think it's nearly as noticeable as my old AW2518HF anyway.
Maybe the old dudes eyes aren't sensitive to overshoot/coronas because in every review on Extreme OD it's very bad just like how on my 280hz Asus OD 100 is very bad and I can notice it in game. :D
LMFAO!! Maybe this is my issue. During gameplay I don't see it. I've mentioned this a few times. Old ass eyes I guess! On my Asus VG259QM, I notice but at 120 with the recommended settings on FW 105 its seems greatly improved.

I see it at 80 and 120 during gaming, but it's so minimal at 120 that it's not a distraction for me, 80 was too much that I went back to 60 before knowing about 120.

I ran with PG259QN last night on Extreme and no issues. Having said that, I was out of my mind tired and was quite literally a fish in a barrel for anyone who came across. This morning though, played a bit and couldn't really tell... had just woke up lol. I am going to run it in a few.

Did anyone ever figure out how to access the service menu?

Just out of curiosity, what is your color calibration delta the monitor was shipped with?

Most monitors I saw being reviewed had like 0.4 to 0.5 compared to my 1.03.

The reason I'm asking is because I can actually see my delta 2 grey accuracy, resulting in poor greys?

Glad rtings made a review. Difference with VG279QM is minimal and some characteristics like quality of overdrive (overshoot) is better by VG279QM.
btw VG259QM is worse than VG279QM by rtings review.
