Your refresh rate dictates the limits of framerate-based motion blur reduction.
You need to upgrade your refresh rate rate if you want the best blur reduction you can get from your frame rates above your current Hz.
As a rule of thumb, doubling your frame rate will halve motion blur. 60Hz->120Hz->240Hz. I recommend geometric upgrades to your refresh rate if you want to reduce motion blur without strobing (no ULMB). It is a part of why I am a huge fan of future 1000fps 1000Hz
low persistence sample-and-hold.
For people who are picky about strobeless (framerate-based) motion blur reduction (no strobing), I recommend at least doubling your refresh rate when you upgrade your monitor, so 144Hz upgraders should go straight to at least 280Hz+
60Hz->144Hz is ~2.4x clearer for framerate=Hz motion
144Hz->240Hz is ~1.6x clearer for framerate=Hz motion
144Hz->360Hz is ~2.5x clearer for framerate=Hz motion
Make sure you also upgrade your GPU too and/or enable your frame rate amplification feature (such as RTX DLSS 2.0). Current frame rate amplification modes like those only currently give you ~1.5x to 2.5x more framerate though (tomorrow's
frame rate amplification will be better), but is a great tool for strobeless motion blur reduction.
If you can't raise your refresh rate, the only way to get less motion blur is your strobe backlight mode.
