Input lag cs:go / choppy/unsmooth
Input lag cs:go / choppy/unsmooth
Hello, I have problem with microstutter/choppy/input lag for many years, when i come from cs 1.6 to cs:go in 2014 i had bad fps and monitor, i think in 2015-2016 i bought better PC with 250+fps and 144hz and for months i was like
uff so smooth game, but time in time my game was feeling like im playing on 60hz again and low fps, my mouse moovement is very bad when im in action.. I have this probram
maybe for 4years and i think i tried everything..
I tried 3 different PCs.
Every exist launch/windows commands
Every softwares to optimalize windows/games/drivers
Change keyboard/mouse/hz in mouse
Change internet connection.
Tried other place for playing cuz i was thinking my house wirig is bad, thats why i bought UPS battery but not help from it..
I leave my cs career becouse of it becouse its really bad and im not feel good when i have 144hz and 300fps and my game is very very choppy and mouse movement is unstable..
Last month i bought new monitor, its 144hz and my game in first day was really really smooth, my spray was stable and mousemovement was really good. I was really happy, i thoght
iam back in the game.
But next day when i start game i felt again choppy and again input lag. Not too much but it was worse and worse.. Sometimes its lagging less sometimes more.
I dont really understand whats going, Maybe someone know help or have some idea?
Iˇm using DVI-D.. When my game is very stuttering i try other cable and then its going littlebit better for some time..
Sorry for my english but i think you will understand this..

Take a look at the other 20 threads on this site about this problem. There is plenty of info out there about the symptoms. No one really knows the exact cause.
Re: Input lag cs:go / choppy/unsmooth
I remember when I started playing cs go, I did not feel any input lag, until one day I felt the recoil of the ak-47 heavier and coarser than usual, immediately I went to see if valve had put a patch or something like that and changed the recoil of that weapon, but no. After that I never felt the cs like when I started playing it
I've tried all sorts of things, I remember one time I switched the power mode to maximun performance on nvidia, and my bullets were going much faster and smoother.
A few days ago it occurred to me to disconnect my Steelseries 6gv2 from the PS / 2 port and connect it to usb 3.0 and I did the same with my logitech gpro connecting it to a usb 3.0. Since that day I feel the mouse much better, and now I can aim for the head and kill much easier

Re: Input lag cs:go / choppy/unsmooth
Can you test with ram XMP disabled? For me it worked with desync.
Re: Input lag cs:go / choppy/unsmooth
It might sound weird but I managed somehow to fix it for myself. Right now im using weak laptop that had the problem, also in another games such as Dota where it was so difficult for me to cast spells fast because of the input lag that i had to quit playing. How did I fix it? Actually im not an expert and I cannot give you the correct explanation but I downloaded RyzenAdj which helps you adjust the TDP of the APU (Ryzen 3500u with Vega) and there are options also for the VRM Current (A) whatever that means. By default the APU has TDP of 15W, so I put it on 20w and also I lowered the VRM Current (A) which defaults at 50 to 40 and boom - the smoothest gaming experience in few years. I really hope some expert out there could explain to me what I have done and what the problem really was but I repeat - it is fixed now. No more input lag, no more visual lag, no more feeling for stucked keyboard keys. Now I can spray in cs go and I can cast spells as fast as I can in DOTA and Im back destroying enemies.

ye lowered voltage to your cpu and others components will bring you better result instant but will be bad again overtimewyrko_o wrote: ↑03 Jan 2021, 05:25It might sound weird but I managed somehow to fix it for myself. Re: Input lag cs:go / choppy/unsmooth
So basically I have lowered the voltages that my MB supplies to all of my laptop's components? Well that explains it all. The thing is that I am able to reproduce it, so I have finally found the culprit of my problems and also how to fix it. But I still don't get it, how could lowering the voltages make my system feel better, make my input and visual lag go away, make my gaming experience so much better? Isn't it supposed to run better with higher voltages, I mean isn't lowering the voltages supposed to cause powerthrottling?Unixko wrote: ↑03 Jan 2021, 06:27ye lowered voltage to your cpu and others components will bring you better result instant but will be bad again overtimewyrko_o wrote: ↑03 Jan 2021, 05:25It might sound weird but I managed somehow to fix it for myself. Re: Input lag cs:go / choppy/unsmooth
with EMI around you need less power to your components more voltage=more emi = worse pcwyrko_o wrote: ↑03 Jan 2021, 06:40So basically I have lowered the voltages that my MB supplies to all of my laptop's components? Re: Input lag cs:go / choppy/unsmooth
he just gave the apu more power which means the gpu was bottlenecked which caused the input lag
Re: Input lag cs:go / choppy/unsmooth
You just made me think of something. All the pcs I've had were overclocked and also most of them with higher voltages. I've had the problem on all of them. I have never thought that I have EMI in my house, also my electricity is grounded.Unixko wrote: ↑03 Jan 2021, 06:53with EMI around you need less power to your components more voltage=more emi = worse pcwyrko_o wrote: ↑03 Jan 2021, 06:40So basically I have lowered the voltages that my MB supplies to all of my laptop's components?
