Hey,
Any recommendations for the best out of the box screen, mainly to use with the Xbox one for FPS games like cod and bf.
- After the usual gaming stuff low input lag, no ghosting, ect.
- After 27 inch, but 24 inch is ok too.
- IPS panel would be nice for the colours but again not a necessity
- 1080p and 60hz is all that is required since Xbox one doesn't use anything more, unless you guys think otherwise.
- Built in speakers (in case my wireless headset dies)
- $450 maximum spend
I was initially looking at the Asus MX279h, but I'm abit of a noob when it comes to what to look for in the best console screen. so I found this site Id thought id ask.
Thank You.

Re: XBOX ONE MONITOR
This site is mainly about "Better Than 60Hz" displays, including 120Hz displays. You won't be able to take advantage of 120Hz with a console with these computer monitors. The MX279H is a nice IPS display good for consoles, but if you came here to find ways to reduce motion blur (getting a more CRT-motion-sharp experiennce) instead of better colors, you could be interested in the BENQ Z-Series monitor 144Hz monitor also capable of 60Hz strobing with consoles including XB1 / PS4, if you are able to play a lot of 60fps games. Be noted, not everyone likes 60Hz flicker.
That said, if you prefer good color quality over crystal clear motion, then the 1080p IPS displays tend to be the best, and the ASUS MX279H is high-rated display with plenty of good reviews on Amazon, if you're looking to play XB360/XB1 or PS3/PS4 games.

Re: XBOX ONE MONITOR
cool thanks. as it is my eyes are hurting from playing on my 50 inch plasma. I play for roughly 4-5hrs per day.
I thought of getting a BenQ for there eye strain feature. don't know if that would help much. But I'm guessing anything I play on with console will give me the 60Hz flicker?

How close will you be viewing the display when playing consoles? You may still prefer the MX279H if you don't use 120Hz, but if you also play PC games at 120Hz, the BENQ Z-Series will be benefit that significantly.

Re: XBOX ONE MONITOR
Thank you for your help for a non 120hz + problem. I don't want to waste your time but I'm glad that I found your site for when I upgrade my pc monitor.
I would be sitting roughly 0.5 - 1m away from a 27inch.
So at the moment I just need the best possible screen for hard-core FPS console use only at this time, as I like to keep everything separate. I was looking at the Benq GL2760H also. Do you think this screen would be superior to the MX279H for response, ghosting and lag.
It also has the flicker free feature which might help a little with my sore eyes. the fact I'm going to be sitting in front of the screen, the IPS viewing angles don't really matter. I would just have to lose out a little on the colour which is no biggie.
Thanks again for your help.

CRT monitor* continues dominate for no motion blur. HDFury is HDMI to VGA adaptor. Do you want CRT?
