Recently I tried the VG259QM, just wasn't there for me in terms of motion clarity but I really enjoyed the snappy input feeling. Now using the 258qm, motion is indeed clearer but doesn't feel the same for snappiness.
I must admit that the VG259QM feels slightly more responsive than my XL2546K. At first I thought that the -0.4ms difference wasn't noticeable, it's subtle, but you can feel it if you use both monitors by putting them on your desk side by side.
That being said I'm still using the 2546K over the VG259QM, especially with Dyac, I'm more than willing to accept the BFI input lag penalty(to be added to the +0.3ms input lag difference) in order to reach that level of motion clarity.
From my experience you can get used to an input lag difference by compensating with your aim but you can't compensate for the lack of motion clarity.
You should be aware that the 2546K is not perfect, if the XG2431 will be able to achieve the same level of motion clarity with strobing while providing all the benefits of IPS I'd choose it over the 2546K every day.
Personally I'd rather use a monitor for content consumption and another monitor strictly for gaming, if you want a single monitor setup to play games at 240hz then you have to choose for a compromise between motion clarity and viewing experience.
360hz IPS are capable of reducing the compromise by brute forcing +120hz, reducing input lag but not necessarily improving clarity (as shown by the 360vs240hz video by Optimum Tech).
Maybe the XV252Q_F can be exactly what you are looking for, 390hz strobing looks very promising.
Thanks for the detailed response!
Yeah, I thought I was tripping out a little bit at first as well. Having testing both side by side, the 259 and 258, the IPS definitely felt snappier, but just how much blur I could perceive on it I didn't feel confident at all using it.
TN I feel like is just for a very "niche" market now, having tried several IPS offerings (in the 144 and 240hz department) I just wasn't very impressed tbh. There was one that I thought was pretty good however, the LG GN850, though that was sometime ago, I don't know if would think the same now.

I have an LG oled as a eye candy "monitor" so really the only thing I'm looking for is just for sweating it up, so speed, visibility, responsiveness, etc
I think what I'll do is grab the 2546K as it seems like a pretty safe option right now (and im out a monitor but can get it with ovn shipping lol).
I'll definitely keep my eye out on the XV252QF and the XG2431. Would be interesting to test either (or both) with the 2546K as a base anyways.
Thanks for the input so far everyone!
