With the lack of availability of the XG2431 in Europe, what are some good alternatives to consider - either currently available on the market, or due for release before the end of the year?
Thanks in advance for any input
i would go for the XV252QZ or the new dell sg , in europe is the best option , you have a new ex2510s from benq.
im still trying to get the acer 390hz but will need to update the cpu

Thanks for replying
Can I ask why you recommend these as good alternatives to the XG2431?
I'm curious as to why you suggested the BenQ EX2510S? From what I can see from its specs they seem markedly lower than that of the XG2431 e.g 165hz, 2ms response time.
I couldn't find any results for a Dell with an "SG" model number. Could you be more specific?

If u want to cross-compare some UFOs for motion performance use this
spreadsheet collection that I tried to put together.

Actually, Amazon Europe has XG270 for 360 EUR which is surprising as it's always been 500EUR+ in my country. This is tempting as I prefer 27 inch over 24. Which leads me to ask, how much better is XG2431 than XG270? The shots from screen above seem to show less double images at top and bottom of the screen for XG2431. Anything else to consider?
I watched Aperture Grille review and as I understand 119hz mode is pretty much the primary one for motion clarity. Is 120-240hz range also TOTL compared to other monitors?
Is there something coming in late 2021/early 2022 in 27 inches that's better than XG270 for motion clarity? If I were to wait half a year for XG2431, might as well wait for that then. Otherwise the XG270 deal is tempting.

To explain the price drop, the VS account manager I've been speaking to told me that the XG270 was going to be discounted until around the end of September.
They also re-confirmed to me yesterday that ViewSonic Europe will not be taking stock of the XG2431.

What is the reason of discontinuing? Will ViewSonic have an updated version?
@ChiefBlurBuster can you please comment? Do you still recommend XG270 or would advise to wait?

Discounted, not discontinued.
Discounted = price reduction.

So based on what I've read from this thread and others on the forum, as well some reviews, these seem to be the recommended best alternatives for the XG2431 for Europeans:
If you're going to be strobing - ViewSonic XG270 (currently discounted on Amazon until roughly end of Sept).
If you're not strobing - VG259QM if you're prioritising motion; VG279QM if you want better colour & larger screen.
If you're willing to spend a bit more & want a higher refresh rate - Acer XV252Q F if they are unavailable, or the Alienware AW2521H.
If anyone has any thoughts on these picks, or any additional input or insight, it'd be great to hear from you
