Hello everyone, in two weeks, the demon slayer game is releasing and i wanted to get the best experience possible.
Problem is: the game is gonna be locked at 30fps, i have the VG279QM and XB271HUABMIPRZ (i think it is this one) monitor.
For the VG279QM the more i dip in frames, the higher the input lag is. I don't really know for the predator one, but i'm mostly gonna play on the VG one. At the moment i'm on hdmi without gsync on the VG279QM and DP gsync off on the other one.
Also i've tried to read the guide about the delay for high refresh rate ips monitor, but i wasn't able to understand it well.
As it is written in the title, 30/60fps feels really choppy and not smooth at all. I don't know if there is a workaround for smoothness and great responsivness.

Multimonitor also adds stutter, from Hz interference.
Please remove some layers off your stutter onion first;
The stutter onion contains multiple layers;
- Non-divisible refresh rates
- Interference between two different-Hz monitors run simultaneously
- Game code quality and framepacing
- Driver quality
- Background software (such as RGB software)
- Sync technology settings.
Also, some high lag can occur when running at a lower refresh rate on a high-Hz monitor (e.g. 60Hz PlayStation 4 on a 144Hz monitor). It’s best to run 60fps at 144fps VRR instead.
Some stutter onion layers are easy to remove (e.g. temporarily disable multimonitor, or run in full screen exclusive on the primary monitor).
I also must remind you that G-SYNC is the world’s lowest latency “non-VSYNC-OFF” technology, so any latency complaints about VRR is usually from esports users using VSYNC OFF.
Video Fix
Temporarily switch your monitor to a divisible refresh rate, e.g. 120Hz or 240Hz to play your 30fps or 60Hz content. For video players, use a player with excellent framepacing. Try VLC vs Windows Media Player vs MPC-HC etc. Also, try a VRR-compatible video player such as SMplayer in full screen exclusive mode, to allow the frame rate to become the native Hz. Also, some browsers (Chrome vs FireFox) framepaces their streaming video better.
Game Fix for Erratic Stutters
1. Set NVIDIA Control Panel G-SYNC to “On” and VSYNC to “On”
2. Set Monitor’s FreeSync setting to “On”
3. Set Game Settings VSYNC to “OFF” (yes, opposing setting)
4. Set frame rate cap about 3fps below Hz
30fps or 60fps will feel less smooth than 240fps though.
Low frame rates will always be laggy more because of GPU latency, not display latency. 30fps means each frame took 33ms to render in the GPU, while 240fps means each frame took 4ms to render in the GPU. However, 30fps at 240Hz will feel far less laggy than 30fps at 60Hz, since those 30fps frames will transmit over the video cable in 1/240sec instead of 1/60sec.
Also, fast pixel-response means 30fps may feel slightly stutterier than a slow pixel response monitor. This is because slow pixel response added some motion blur that hid stutter. If you’re unavoidably running game frame rates extremely low (15-30fps), sometimes it is even beneficial to turn on the game’s motion blur setting to allow the motion blur to hide the ultra-low-framerate stutter. However, as soon as your frame rate goes 60fps or above, the GPU motion blur setting should be turned off.
As always, upgrade your GPU to render your frames faster with less lag. Don’t forget low frame rates (at 100% GPU utilization) are more GPU latency than display latency. You definitely want to upgrade GPU or decrease graphics detail, if you hate GPU lag of low frame rates.
