To the Cheif Blur Buster. There's alot of info on this thread. but it's kind of all over the place as everone has different needs.
If you were to list an order of things to setup and evaluate this monitor what would you do?
Some people are complaining about gamma.
Specifically trying to determine the best input lag at different refresh rates "without" Purexp as I would imagine it's best response time would be without it.
Then once you have that dialed in. What Pure Xp settings would you use for.
60 hz, 120 hz, 144,hz 160 - 180 hz, 200 hz 240 hz. That probably covers all of them.
Also it seems like there will alwasy be a trade off between input lag and or screen response and clarity.
Could you describe how each feature in the Strobe Utility relates to what the cost may be input/screen response wise.
Also you have mentioned that for pure xp to work the best you want to match the strobe with the monitors refresh rate and preferably a locked refresh rate. if the monitor is at 239.8 hz. how can you match that with fps caps and refresh rates in a control panel?
Is there anything else that I may have missed as far a fist time user needing to know? Maybe sticky your response at the top of the thread so people have a concise system to work from.

I don't understand how I'd do that on Xbox Series X. It's either 120hz support enabled or disabled.Chief Blur Buster wrote: ↑12 Dec 2021, 17:47If you hate duplicate images, use framerate=Hz with ANY strobe mode on ANY monitor.AM_acc1q wrote: ↑12 Dec 2021, 16:03Maybe extreme motion blur? It's almost like a combination of the artifacts you get from VSYNC off, (only vertical instead of horizontal in this case) combined with double vision (like two frames are being rendered together and one is offset by a few pixels + slightly transparent). Hopefully I don't sound crazy; maybe that's just what motion blur is

You need framerate=Hz with strobing to avoid framerate-related duplicate images.
Raise your framerate (adjust the game/GPU) or lower your refresh rate (adjust the refresh rate) until framerate=Hz, and then most duplicate images will disappear (with the only remaining one being strobe crosstalk related).
It's the same problem as CRT 30fps at 60Hz.
If you grew up with a CRT tube or a plasma display, you will remember the duplicate image problem of 30fps on a 60Hz display.
TL;DR: If you hate duplicate images, make sure you use 60Hz PureXP for 60fps games, and make sure you use 120Hz PureXP for 120fps games. If you cannot reliably do framerate=Hz, and you dislike duplicate images, then you may wish to use VRR/GSYNC/FreeSync instead of motion blur reduction.
What exactly is "120Hz PureXP"? I created my Custom profile while using Windows @ 120hz. Is there something I have to change on the monitor OSD?
This is just weird because I haven't had this problem on any other games.

How long until there is a motion blur reduction technique with VRR available (officially)? I say this because a lot of games make it hard to get a good vsync, even when using external solutions. For example, I think a game like Bit.Trip Runner would benefit a lot from motion blur reduction, but I've found it very hard to get a good vsync (I would be interested if someone could test that game). The game is also locked to 60hz which I assume would make it worse. I'm tempted to try out this display but I'm not looking forward to dealing with vsync issues again. Things like scanline sync have been hit or miss for me and forcing external vsync seems to add quite a bit of latency while not eliminating stutter completely.

When you use ICC profile do you use it with color temp = user color or native? And is your contrast on 70? as 70 is the defaultMarlen wrote: ↑12 Dec 2021, 13:41I've bought and brought this monitor to Kazakhstan, it did cost me around 440$ overall, but it was totally worth it.
No dead pixels, no hard backlight bleed. There's typical IPS glow, but it's not critical or even noticeable in normal use. Tho, it got better after I left screen on with full screen white wallpaper for night.
As for PureXP, for now I am using PureXP Light setting, will be tinkering around with custom settings in 4 days.
Calibrated monitor with i1Display Pro Plus using DisplayCal with following monitor settings:
Contrast, brightness = default.
Color temperature = User Color>Red 100, Green 99, Blue 100.
Color space = RGB
Color range = Full Range
these settings already good, if you don't need ICC profiles, but I've attached ICC profile too.

Warzone on Xbox Series X is Native 120fps so double image probably isn't the guy's problem.Chief Blur Buster wrote: ↑12 Dec 2021, 17:47If you hate duplicate images, use framerate=Hz with ANY strobe mode on ANY monitor.AM_acc1q wrote: ↑12 Dec 2021, 16:03Maybe extreme motion blur? Does anyone have the input lag numbers for this monitor at 60hz?

Anyone getting eye fatigue with this monitor? I’m not 100% certain but it seems that I may be getting some with the XG2431 where with the XL2546K I am not.

Anyone else who is gaming on console how is the input lag feel at 60-120fps for you? I feel a bit more delayed when gaming on 120fps opposed to my other 144hz Monitor. I'm also only using freesync and not purexp at the moment.
