Available for pre-order here:

G2460PG (G-Sync) is twice the price of the G2460FQ (non G-Sync) and only differs in height adjustment and USB ports from what I can tell.

The G2460PQU looks to be more comparable with the same stand and usb ports, it costs £199 making gsync a £160 option, ouch!

Might be holding off for a little bit.

According to this page, if you compare those two, the PQU version is a WLED screen. I don't know if that makes a difference versus TN?

I feel the same though, G-Sync has now dropped off the top of my upgrade list.

Looks like this one will be. Also from these pics it looks like there will be an external power brick, I've only had monitors before with a kettle plug type connector, anyone know of any pros or cons to having an external brick?

Anyone that can read that review can make us a run-down of how good it looks?

Or better, are any other reviews already around?

The release date, according to http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu ... =MO-022-AO seems to be 11th August 2014.

I'm currently using some AOC monitor 19-inch don't even know model of it. Resolution of 1680x1050@59hz 19inch. It can't even go 60hz.

And while there are online stores here selling 120hz monitors, non with g-sync yet also extremely overpriced ASUS VG248QE for 350€ no thank you. There are no stores that sell 120hz on the shelves, so I can't see the difference between 60 and 120 hz in real time. But from TN to IPS I can see the difference and IPS has gorgeous colours.

Now I'm looking at this monitor.. Is it worth it to buy it? Keep in mind that I am going to have this monitor for ever, 10+ years, or until it dies.

I do play mostly MMORPGs of competitive nature and FPS. I never watch movies on it since I have TV for that. I'm going to have GTX 760 in my rig. And later upgrade it, probably pascal or volta.

So is it worth it for long term and MMORPGs?

Just like the Asus PG278Q which is now technically pushed to August.

Honestly, as far as the first variable refresh monitors go.
If you were looking @ the aoc g2469pg you should forget it and get the Acer XB270HA.
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu ... =MO-067-AC

Its the same price as the aoc. But it has a real 8bit panel instead of the usual 6bit+ticks that the aoc monitor has. And its a 27"; imo size makes a huge difference for immersion and enjoyment of games.

Either monitor has gsync and will work with your 760 ... and games will finally be enjoyed not just "run".
IPS is pretty, and i use a 21:9 ips for gaming and its immersive as hell, but it ghosts, has backlight bleeding through the sreen at the corners (mine has none,....but these things are common for ips unfortunatelly). And most importantly - doesnt have variable refresh rate, so gaming is either enjoying stutter or enjoying screen tearing.

If you plan on keeping your monitor for a long time, i think it should be a variable refresh rate monitor. No longer having fps celings will make your video cards last much longer, as you will be able to enjoy new games in the future artifact free without the need to have constant 60fps. Only requirement of gsync to work is to have fps above 30 and the max it can go up to is 144 on a 144hz screen.

But i suggest the bigger gsync screen with better colors. Especially since price is the same.

There may be variable refresh rate IPS monitors comming in the first half of next year. If we are lucky. That would be nice for a long term gaming monitor. But there will always be something better in the future.
And those will probably be another price teir up. Not to mention they might take 3 years to get here instead of 1. We should know more on this in November tho. At best - it will take a year for them to appear on the market.

So that Acer with 8bit, should be close to Asuses RoG in terms of colors.

Just that Acers is 1080p and Asuses 1440p.

How come it's only a bit more expensive than AOC and being 27 inch?
