1080p 144Hz TN Monitor Recommendation

Post by warface9991 » 13 Feb 2022, 11:28

I recently bought overly acclaimed AOC 24G2(the 2019 one) but IPS panel is obviously not my thing. My brother has LG 24GL600F and believe it or not I like this monitor much more in terms of colors(yes I realized that I like faded colors.) So, I will buy another TN monitor with 144Hz 1080P with FreeSync technology within a price range between 200-250 US dollars. Can you recommend me one? Is there a chart that lists best monitors with that specifications? Thank you for advance.

xg2402 is a good 144hz monitor, I've heard the xg240r is slightly better though. Maybe consider buying a cheap 280hz tn monitor? There's a few on amazon by brands i've never heard of, but they might be decent. idea display 280Hz 25-inch FHD TN, 1920 x 1080, MPRT 0.5ms for $230. Might be crap or a hidden gem. Another one that's slightly out of your budget Deco Gear 25" Ultrawide Gaming Monitor, MPRT 1ms, 280Hz for $269.

For esports, don't buy any IPS panel older than year 2020-2021.

The post-2020 IPS panels definitely can sometimes beat TN quality. The ViewSonic XG2431 was recently compared very favorably to a BenQ XL2546, as an example! If you read the XG2431 thread, some people compared the BenQ and ViewSonic, and some people said the ViewSonic XG2431 had less ghosting than a BenQ XL2546 DyAc -- same 240Hz vs 240Hz.

With "Fast IPS" / "Rapid IPS" modern IPS suddenly improved much closer to TN during a demarcation point that began in 2020.

Assumptions based on pre-2020 IPS panels are currently now obsolete/outdated.

IPS had a massive sudden ghosting-reduction in 2020.

Pre-2020 IPS is literally B.C. and post-2020 IPS is literally A.D.
