Re: Acer 390Hz monitor - XV252QF
Can anyone let me know if theyre able to change their Max Brightness when TVR is on? Mine locks it to On regardless if i had it on/off before turning on the strobing. TVR normal is slightly brighter than when i use strobing Off with Max Brightness Off. Not sure if its a bug or not.
Side note on my flicker issues, i walked away from the pc for a few hours while leaving it on in a game while it was flickering and when i came back it stopped. I have to test it some more, im not my dp cable and the current/best one was the one that flickered for awhile n then stopped.

Re: Acer 390Hz monitor - XV252QF
In my Acer model when VRB (TVR) is enabled it's automatically always max brightness (~240cmd2) and the state of brightness setting or the separate max brightness option in the menu does not affect it in any way. I have measured differences and settings combinations with i1 display pro. Result is the same meaning the minute you pop VRB = Extreme, it's 240cmd2 no matter what the other settings are. It is maxed out and there's nothing you can do to make it brighter. With VRB on high it behaves similar but max brightness is of course higher, something like 320cmd2.
Max brightness setting is only usable when no backight strobing is used at all. This allows the monitor to go upwards from 250cmd/2 and upwards in the non strobed state.
I suggest you should not use the max brightness setting at all if you intend to use VRB also when gaming. Just max out the default brightness to 100 (=250cmd). This way when you pop in the VRB Extreme setting it has roughly the same brightness, when you start gaming your eyes don't have to adjust to the new level.

So , i try another DP cable to see if i was able to have 390hz with dual setup but nothing , the monitor is super good but i want to be able to have 2 monitors and 390hz , or i get a cheap second gpu to run on igpu or send back the monitor until tomorrow , sad =(
Re: Acer 390Hz monitor - XV252QF
Im guessing on Acer Nitro you can change max brightness while vbr on while the Acer Aopen you cant change max brightness with tvr on. Max brightness is forced on and gets greyed out not allowing you to turn it off on the Acer Aopen. Weird quirk. I ordered another dp cable hopefully kabeldirekt will do me justice on this flickering issue, itll be the 5th cable im trying but the first real vesa certified manufacturer. Previous one is from capshi which it says is vesa certified on amazon but not listed in displayport.org. if this doesnt work then im going to return and look for a 240hz monitor since my fav fps game atm is warzone and cant get over 300fps on it anyway. Sad that best options in that class is xl2546k (tn panel but has dyac+) and xg2431 (ips but lacks lot of options).

Its pretty sad and pathetic the cables manufactures include with the monitors are so cheap they don't even work right. Cheap assholes. Ive seen others with the same issue. You would think the amount of money they make off the monitors they would spare 25 cents more for a better cable....
Re: Acer 390Hz monitor - XV252QF
Could someone please confirm if G-Sync is properly working with this monitor model?
After enabling "AMD FreeSync Premium" from OSD the G-Sync menu appears to Nvidia Control Panel, but does not get triggered in game - "Mode: Normal" stays no matter what. G-Sync/FreeSync was working with LG 34GK950F-B. I have 2080ti GPU + newest 511.79 driver

To enter the service menu of the XV252QF (thanks to Minibjorn from r/monitors discord!), you do the following:
1. Turn 'Off' the monitor
2. Press and hold the first button above the joystick and power 'On' the monitor
3. Release the button when monitor is on.
4. Go into the menu by clicking the joystick, you should see "F" in left top corner.
5. Click the second button from the top (one under the power button)
Aaaand, results:

Re: Acer 390Hz monitor - XV252QF
I currently have double monitor setup running 38" 38GN950 @ 160Hz 3840x1600 (with gsync on) and this 24" XV252QF @ 390Hz 1920x1080 (with gsync off). So both with overclocking on. I had some issues actually locking all these settings in, where flickering issues appeared with this and there was some problems actually maxing out the both OC modes simultaneously. But after couple boot cycles and forcing the settings in, all those seem to have dissappeared now. GTX3070 latest drivers. Windows 11 also seems to handle multi monitor setups better.
