I have lived in 7 places in Auckland as im an international student who goes back to his country on a yearly basis. My country is KSA, when i game back there around 2017-2018 there was virtually no lag or stutter, i was really surprised how smooth and fast the game was when i played there even though i used to get 50-80 ping.
I used to play in my gaming laptop and take it back and forth, big lag in Auckland compared to ksa.
But everytime i come to Auckland and live in any location, there's this high input lag heavy control thingy despite trying different isps and different machines, laptop, new computer, ps 3 , ps4.
I wonder if anyone knows what could the cause for this might be, is it about the electrical wiring used in Auckland?

This subforum is for advanced users only. This separate area is for niche or unexpected lag issues such as electromagnetic interference (EMI, EMF, electrical, radiofrequency, etc). Interference of all kinds (wired, wireless, external, internal, environment, bad component) can cause error-correction (ECC) latencies like a bad modem connection, except internally in a circuit. ECC = retransmits = lag. Troubleshooting may require university degree. Your lag issue is likely not EMI.

More data is required. Do you have lag with bots while WiFi is turned off / Ethernet cable unplugged? We need to exclude regional-related Internet latencies, since the soup of latencies is like an onion of many different causes -- and we must peel off other likely causes before concluding EMI.Mugabi wrote: β26 Feb 2022, 07:26I have lived in 7 places in Auckland as im an international student who goes back to his country on a yearly basis. I suspect its the electricity in my city as i have tried playing in an internet caffe in which i experienced the same issues (after 10-20 minutes of playing) , windows reinstalls vastly improve the smoothness for my pc for around 20-30 minutes.
I heard toroids (ferritr beads) helped many users with this issue but the lag eventually comes back.
I tried playing in my friends pc, he had similar issues but much much less than what im currently experiencing in my pc.
Im at a point where the lag Is making not being able to shoot in online games. People think im trolling and report me.
Should i try getting a completely new pc ? Perhaps similar to my friends? Any recommendations to emi filtering equipments i should buy ?.
Would playing in a laptop with battery only confirm that it may not be electricity ?

Laptop + offline game mostly yes. Electricity effects everything unfortunately, your router or modem also has a cpu and a ram and will be effected by bad electricity which would increase errors.. If bad electricity effects PC's with really good power supplies that are designed to filter out most of the electric problems that might occur on the main line, how about a low quality Chinese small power supply used in mainstream modem/routers provided by ISPs. Lets remember how ISPs want customer satisfaction and quality of service over revenue and profit.Mugabi wrote: β03 Mar 2022, 06:17Yes sir, lag offline online with wifi off and Ethernet unplugged.Chief Blur Buster wrote: β02 Mar 2022, 19:04More data is required. Iβm worried that even Playin using a laptop might not fix this, should I play with laptop without power plug and use phone wifi tethering for internet to get no electricity lag ?(I donβt think thereβs EMI or RFi)Thatweirdinputlag wrote: β05 Mar 2022, 17:28Laptop + offline game mostly yes.
