fluctuating mouse polling rate? FIXED
Re: fluctuating mouse polling rate? FIXED
Which version of windows are you using? As I understand it, these are commands related to changing the system clock. Will this have an effect on win11?

Doesn't work on WIN11 or I never had these set in first placekPhobos wrote: ↑17 Oct 2022, 08:59bcdedit /deletevalue useplatformtick
bcdedit /deletevalue disabledynamictick
*reboot pc after this, and ensure you run CMD as admin*
this put my fluctuation down from 500+hz, to about 20.
the following was put into CMD run as admin, which reduced it even further, to only 5hz max in fluctuation.
bcdedit /deletevalue x2apicpolicy
bcdedit /deletevalue tscsyncpolicy
bcdedit /deletevalue uselegacyapicmode
bcdedit /set nx OptIn
then add this one
bcdedit /set useplatformclock no
and reboot again.
after talking to him, he posted a thread about it aswell, referencing my forum post here to explain the issue

works on windows 11... i use win11 myself, if you didnt have any of the values in the first place, then this is not the fix you need, if you have the same issue as i hadMontyTheAverage wrote: ↑18 Oct 2022, 00:39Doesn't work on WIN11 or I never had these set in first placekPhobos wrote: ↑17 Oct 2022, 08:59bcdedit /deletevalue useplatformtick

Re: fluctuating mouse polling rate? FIXED
these are related to some system clock stuff, i use win11 myself, and could already feel a huge improvement just by deleting the first two values. i believe most of these values are added through "system optimization" videos on youtube, or through someone who does it as a paid service.
the instant i restarted my pc after deleting the first two values, i could immediately feel a huge difference

Thanks for sharing the commands, will try these later. I just tested my mouse and it also has a fluctuating mouse polling rate. Do you think that if the polling rate is not constantly 1000Hz, this has a noticeable negative effect during aiming? Especially with smooth tracking, i.e. with slower movements (shots miss etc.) or is that something that can be ignored for this area?
Re: fluctuating mouse polling rate? FIXED
500 does and always has felt better than 1000.
On paper 1k should be better and visually it is, but 500 felt like it had a better balanced x&y.
No idea why.
Re: fluctuating mouse polling rate? FIXED
Sorry to revive this thread. But am I understanding you correctly, that your Polling Rate does not go under 450 HZ while using 500 HZ when moving your mouse very slow? I don't understand how that's possible.bcdedit /deletevalue useplatformtick

Re: fluctuating mouse polling rate? FIXED
So does it mean that if my polling rate is unstable, my aim will also be inconsistent? really looking to fix this.
