I needed some guide on 60FPS above 60Hz.
Currently I'm using a laptop with Nvidia Optimus which AFAIK can't enable G-Sync even if it had a display port connection although my connection is through HDMI (because it's the only connection this laptop has). I'm also using AOC 24G2E 144Hz display. While my laptop is HDMI 2.0, my display is only HDMI 1.4
I mainly play AAA games at 60FPS with Fast Sync (DX11) / V-Sync (DX12) and RTSS capped at 60FPS.
My question is which Hz should i use for this 60FPS that has no VRR? Should i be using 144Hz or 120Hz? or even 60Hz? I read somewhere in this forum that it's better to use 60Hz on 60FPS games because the frame would be 1:1.
Sorry for my bad English. Thank you in advance.

Re: 60FPS on Non-VRR Device
For non-VRR, a divisible refresh rate will be smoother motion -- so use 120Hz instead of 144Hz unless your game supports 72fps.
For games that can't keep up at 120fps 120Hz, then 60fps or 72fps will feel smoother.
If you get some stutters, then use RTSS to cap at 60fps.

Re: 60FPS on Non-VRR Device
There might still be an option to run G-sync through your laptop's HDMI port. Which CPU does your laptop have?

There are a lot of laptops with that CPU & GPU configuration. What's the model number of your laptop? it's usually on the back https://www.google.com/search?q=find+la ... 7&biw=1920merlinch wrote: ↑07 Mar 2023, 02:44CPU is Ryzen 7 3750H and dGPU 1660 Ti Mobile 80w, i can't find anything that a laptop with optimus is capable of doing G-Sync even my monitor is Freesync and G.-Sync Compatible onlyBoomchakadah wrote: ↑03 Mar 2023, 01:13There might still be an option to run G-sync through your laptop's HDMI port. If that HDMI port is connected to the vega iGPU, this might work. https://youtu.be/qUYRZHFCkMwmerlinch wrote: ↑07 Mar 2023, 17:28Ah my bad, it's ASUS TUF FX505DUBoomchakadah wrote: ↑07 Mar 2023, 17:25There are a lot of laptops with that CPU & GPU configuration. Re: 60FPS on Non-VRR Device
Sadly, no. HDMI bypass the iGPU and directly to dGPU.
