Switching between gpu and display scaling and one bonus question

Hi, im curious if anything bad can happen to the monitor or the gpu because im switching between gpu and the display scaling pretty often. I play a lot of CS, valorant, fortnite, overwatch etc. When i play cs i switch to gpu scaling bcs on 4:3 it kinda feels better(maybe a placebo) but for every other game i usually play native so i keep it at display. For example i play some CS, than i switch the game and scaling, than CS again, so im switching the scaling few times a day.

Also, on my brothers PC games dont feel as smooth as on mine. Im talking about the same games that i mentioned before. It feels kinda choppy and not even close to being 240hz smooth. He also has a 240hz monitor with fps way over 240 or locked to 237-240. Idk if it could be the monitor or maybe the gpu because hes still using 1060 6gb with the newest drivers which may not be that good anymore for a gpu that old. Im guessing the gpu is rly outdated bcs even when he used 144hz it felt kinda off aswell.

Just to mention it, i use both gsync and vsync on both PCs, when i turn it off it still feels amazing, like how 240hz should be, but on my brothers PC it still feels choppy and just not even close to 240hz. Thanks in advance

Personally I run 100% GPU scaling, all the time. I don't see any reason why use anything else.

But no doubt there is any issues with switching. I switch refresh rates and audio sample rates very often without problems.

I was always confused about gpu and display scaling. Some people say use this, some use that, gpu is for older games so u dont need it anymore. But when i think about it, theres not a single game where i use native resolution. Usually 4:3, 800x600, 1024x768, 1152x864, 1280x960 for CS, same for valorant, and 16:9, 1600x900 for fortnite. I only use native when i play a singleplayer game once in a blue moon.
If u know a bit more about scaling try explaining it to me a bit...just in a nutshell
