G-Sync causing Battlefield 4 crashes

Hey,

Not long ago, I got a hold of a PG278Q ROG. Awesome monitor but I have one issue; Battlefield 4 is now unplayable due to crashes. My previous Qnix at 110Hz and game locked at 80FPS was a rock solid experience, rarely to never any crashes.

I consulted the official forums and was told the latest Nvidia drivers weren't very stable (340.52). So I ran DDU and did a total clean, then proceeded to install the last WHQLs, 337.88. Started up the game and in the first 2 minutes, "Battlefield 4 has stopped working".

Then tried to disable ShadowPlay, which made no difference. Also tried to kill the Nvidia Streamer service completely and stop it from starting, still crashing.

Basically, all that's left is G-sync which I'm sure is the culprit.

Any suggestions for my situation, because right now I'm really regretting this upgrade.

Well, have you disabled g-sync and did it stop crashing?

Yes, had to do some more testing as it's quite time consuming.

However it does appear stable again with G-sync off. I am running an SLI setup.

So right now, this monitor purchase seems like a bit of a dud.

NVIDIA Drivers are in constant developement, and they have already said there will be many bug fixes and optimizations related to G-Sync in future drivers. So you need to wait unitl new drivers are avaialable. In the meantime play either without G-Sync, or just try ULMB.

But you also said that you already had crashes (rarely) so the problem might be something else, and it is only amplified when using G-Sync.

BOOM. I cant play any games with SLI and GSync. I had to sell my two GTX670's and buy a 780Ti to play anything with GSync enabled.

(Well, I played with one GTX 670 for quite some time and upgraded to a 780Ti so I could play at 1440p *SOON*)

its not just bf4, CS:GO, Plants Vs Zombie: Garden Warfare... i have G-Sync disabled at the moment.
is it a driver crash or a game crash? i am getting a mix of the 2. I cant help much but its good to know that i man not alone.

it also seems to take around 10 seconds to alt-tab, going in and out of G-synced programs(games). if you cant live without G-sync, try closing all other programs when the game launches(browser, ts...)

Like I said earlier, my GSync is flawless as long as I am only running a single card. As soon as SLI comes into play, everything crashes.

Can you post you complete system specs so that I can take a look? Also does this repro in single player or just multiplayer BF4? What in game graphic settings are used? Any changes to the NVIDIA Control Panel other than enabling G-Sync?

I have: cpu:i7 4770k @4.4GHz, I-gpu dissabled
Gpu: EVGA GTX 770 with acx cooling @stock clocks, latest drivers
Mobo: MSI G43 Z97 gaming, latest bios
Sound card: Asus Xonar Phoebus, lastest drivers

I have a second 60hz monitor with DVI and the G-Sync at 120hz.

Changes in Nvidia control pannel are forcing 0 render ahead limit and tripple buffering off.
Programms runnning: steelseries engine 2.5 razer synapsis(latest). Nothing else special. Shadowplay is on.

Windows 8.1 pro.
