CSGO lag/desync while other fps games runs perfectly
CSGO lag/desync while other fps games runs perfectly
I've played cs on a somewhat high level for years now and I had this annoying input lag/desync for many years before this on different pcs but I finally decided to upgrade about a year ago from my old cpu, ryzen 3600x to a 5600x. For the first time since maybe 2016 my game ran perfectly on 300-600fps consistently, happy days. Started playing more fps games again and got myself a zowie 2546k with dyac+ and everything was buttery smooth, however I took a break from gaming last autumn and just recently came back and poof I am now lagging on my new hardware.
Strange thing is that valorant, a game which I previously thought felt like shit in terms of netcode, delay etc is running smooth as ever with none of these issues I have in CSGO. So I looked at some graphs on cpu/gpu loads etc. Looks like CSGO is way more demanding than valorant when it comes to GPU load, sometimes spiking to 100% even on 1280x960 resolution compared to 1080p in val. I seem to be getting higher fps in valorant too but not by much, cs is still running the same fps range as when I had just upgraded just feels slow anyway. Running lowest graphics settings in both games btw, also did a fresh Windows install but to no avail.
Could it be because the somewhat dated gpu isn't up to par for high refresh rate gaming in cs anymore? Just weird cause I still get good fps, locking it to fpsmax 400 also doesn't help even tho load goes down. I know cs is notorious for these kinds of problems but this is just getting ridiculously annoying.
Any tips or recommendations greatly appreciated.

Re: CSGO lag/desync while other fps games runs perfectly
Just forget about csgo, its almost dead game rn. Its not worth it. Focus on cs2. Same problems on new engine version?
Re: CSGO lag/desync while other fps games runs perfectly
Complete offtopic but I'm noticing some pattern, many guys here, on reddit etc. are posting their rigs and many of them have Corsair PSU's, I myself have RM750x and some issues too in certain games, can it be something with their PSUs? Maybe emmiting some EMI, modulations or anything that disrupts the whole gaming? Assuming everything else is fine in OP's rig
Re: CSGO lag/desync while other fps games runs perfectly
csgo cannot load a modern processor at 100%. This game only uses 3 cores and the load on the 5600x does not exceed 30%, I did all kinds of tests and I know what I'm talking about. You obviously have problems with the components of the PC, or Windows.atre wrote: ↑21 Apr 2023, 23:20Strange thing is that valorant, a game which I previously thought felt like shit in terms of netcode, delay etc is running smooth as ever with none of these issues I have in CSGO. In my case, all the games feel delayed, from rocket league to the lol that I've been playing more lately, and I notice when it's delayed because when clicking the character it takes longer to move, or sometimes the keys don't register them good.

Yea I don't know it's strange since the first couple of months I used this somewhat new cpu everything ran perfectly that's why I assume I might be lag from the end of the GPU/nvidia drivers or something. Seeing as GPU load is pretty high on most maps compared to valorant and there is no nvidia reflex in CSGO. I'm hoping it will be better with cs2.F1zus wrote: ↑22 Apr 2023, 14:39csgo cannot load a modern processor at 100%. If its just csgo then have you tried playing with a new steam account ? There have been a few reports from people here saying that csgo feels more lagy on their main account compare to their second one.
Re: CSGO lag/desync while other fps games runs perfectly
yea, I've tried that too I know I've noticed it myself on other pcs in the past but no difference here. This games just does my head in tbh, even just a minor windows update can make it feel less responsive. The lag is a bit more severe right now though, just feels like people are sliding around on ice skates and sometimes mouse movements also feel less responsive.ChildOfLuna wrote: ↑23 Apr 2023, 20:41If its just csgo then have you tried playing with a new steam account ? Re: CSGO lag/desync while other fps games runs perfectly
For account sided input lag and bad sync it works to delete userdata account folder (backup config before you do it). It helps a bit (sadly not fully but noticably). Repeat every 7-14 days (after some time it gets messed up again). However still my main acc + one more obviously cursed account which feels noticably desynced and behind they have 3-5 less avg. kills at faceit than other newer accounts... At lower level, with the same friend in lobby (ofc. climbing up is hard if the cursed acc cant get over 17avg).
