Which 240Hz IPS is the one to go of these?
Which 240Hz IPS is the one to go of these?
Hello there, I am swapping from 75Hz to 240Hz and I have my 3 choices after many days of research but I am still not sure about which is the one to go. Would appreciate some help.
I am looking for the lowest response time/input lag on raw stats monitor. I am not sure if ELMB or PureXP+ could get me a headache and also scared about the low brightness fact, my room isnt too bright but still. I obviously will try the backlight strobbing but not sure about it, thats why I look for raw response time just in case.
These are my choices:
MSI MAG251RX
ViewSonic XG2431
Asus TUF Gaming VG259QM
Honorable mentions: ASUS ROG STRIX XG259CM (Probs cant afford it) and AOC G2 24G2ZU ( Maybe too basic )
Would love any tip of which of these would be better at raw response times and then which is best with backlight strobbing. Thank you!

XG2431, no contest.
It's superior.

Yeah thats what I thought but the low nits actually scare me off a bit, maybe it is not as dark as I assume it is but still. Even keeping around 175 nits or so which I guess its not that dark its still the best out of these?
Cannot actually find a way to know if its too dark for my set up without purchasing it hahah

According to Rtings https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/viewsonic/xg2431, the typical nits on the XG2431 is around 340. With the backlight strobing turned on, the nits go from 200 downward depending on the degree of motion blur reduction.khulee wrote: ↑08 May 2023, 21:12Yeah thats what I thought but the low nits actually scare me off a bit, maybe it is not as dark as I assume it is but still. Use the method described above to get a feel on how many nits the XG2431 can output by adjusting your current monitor to around the same levels.

Just bought the XG2431 today, will have it tomorrow morning, didnt check the brightness video on time, anyway will tell my experience, I am not scared of not using strobbing, ultra fast od mode looking very clear already, I also heard the panel itself is very good quality idk if I am right.kyube wrote: ↑09 May 2023, 14:22https://youtu.be/avJTz1JhkR4?t=409khulee wrote: ↑08 May 2023, 21:12Yeah thats what I thought but the low nits actually scare me off a bit, maybe it is not as dark as I assume it is but still. Actually trying it, very very impressed, feeling 240hz even on Windows was incredible, FPS feel great and strobbing modes are nice aswell and I can change depending if its day time or not.kyube wrote: ↑09 May 2023, 14:22https://youtu.be/avJTz1JhkR4?t=409khulee wrote: ↑08 May 2023, 21:12Yeah thats what I thought but the low nits actually scare me off a bit, maybe it is not as dark as I assume it is but still. But I got some real trouble finding the right colors, I need some true color experience but aswell some FPS advantage, already using Nvidia 95% digital vibrance already, would just need some good RGB calibrate, also if theres any interesting feature on the menu to turn on, would like to know, I think I got it right but colors are still not ok, tried many presets

I didn't like the colors of the xg2431. The gamma looked a bit wonky too. The main reason i returned it was the strange headaches i was getting while using it.
If you don't mind 27" monitors and have the budget, i suggest trying the 300hz 1440p ASUS XG27AQMR.
