Re: News on the ROG Swift (PG278Q)
Hi guys!
I'm starting to get the g-sync itch really bad at this point and although I love my IPS, I really REALLY love the concept of variable frame rates being smoothed out.
Anyways, I still want a native 1080p/1200p monitor. I feel that graphic intensive games will drive frame rates below 50 which is where gsync begins to lose its charm. Are there any major advantages with the PG278Q over the 1080p VG248QE assuming the latter is equipped with gsync? Let's assume 1440p isn't one of the advantages since I'm satisfied with 1080p. Thanks!

Re: News on the ROG Swift (PG278Q)
Mine showed up this morning.
Haven't had much of a chance to game yet, but the build quality is nice, packaging was solid. Colors are nice. Still a TN if I am walking around the room but more than enough viewing angle for sitting in front of the thing.
Lots of little nice features. Instant on, easy menu, easy to switch to ulmb and different refresh rates. No noticeable input lag.
Could plug it in and turn gsync on, worked straight away, no tearing, smooth motion in those harder to run games.
I can see myself been happy with this as a primary monitor for a long time.

So far the 4 vendors that look like they will be selling this monitor are:
TigerDirect No price available
NewEgg for $799.99
SuperBiiz for $839.99
NCIX for $899.98
And they are all sold out.
Some of the sites you can't even find the product by name. I actually had to Google TigerDirect PG278Q and got the link for them. Not sure if they just silently put them up on the site or if tomorrow (which is the release date for US) they'll release it. Guess we'll see tomorrow!

Re: News on the ROG Swift (PG278Q)
Newegg's page just added the auto-notify button this afternoon, so that's promising.
If it goes on sale tomorrow, and I catch it, I really want to buy this monitor. I really wish I were a little more confident that it would work correctly with my hardware. The Battlefield thread, complete with the threat of 760 SLI having issues (and the game crashing), has me really worried. Hopefully those are software issues that can be ironed out.

Yeah I did notice that too, been following each page religiously now, lol. It must have happened within the past 2 hours too cause around noon it still had the previous page.
What I'm curious about is if they do plan on releasing them tomorrow, does tomorrow mean at a certain time or at midnight.
