Hi fellas, its been a long time since I've posted.
I have been using the XG2431 for quite some time (mainly for CSGO) and I really need someone here to explain why do I feel that this monitor is EXTREMELY slow.. (I mean relatively to BenQ's 240hz) I come from using the XL2540 since 2017 up till late 2022 and I never had this feeling using it.
it driven me to a point when I started playing with PureXP OFF to feel even the slightest improvement ...
someone tell me if its in my head or what? again, the XL2540's panel didn't feel this way at all. (and its way older)
****is my only solution is to get the XL2566K ? how will it compare ? (I saw the datasheets and tables on RTINGS for both XG2431 and the 2566K but I need someone who actually tried it to describe and help me with the decision). also, the XL2566K costs 930$ here locally, and roughly the same price if I order it from amazon (shipping included) so.. I would really appreciate any help regarding this matter before I spend such a big amount of money .. also had a thought on getting the XL2546K but I dont think its better than my XG2431(?)

Got the same monitor.
Have you tried using the XG2431's 1.4 DP cable? (not using the pervious cable when changing out monitors.)
The XL2540 uses 1.2.
Although a 1.2 cable is rated for 1080p @240Hz there maybe more bandwidth being used when the port itself is 1.4 which affects latency or there is more headroom to improve latency.
Have you installed monitor drivers? https://www.viewsonic.com/global/produc ... #downloads
There is a noticable increase in motion blur when the brightness is increased.
Although my need for a monitor is motion tracking I will share my settings:
Colour adjust:
Contrast 70
Color temp > User Red:92, Green:100, Blue:92.
Color range: full
Manual adjust:
Sharpness: 50
Black stabilization: 50
Setup:
PureXP: Extreme
Display port 1.1: off
DDC/CI: on
For non PureXP settings I prefer Advanced response time setting as it shows less motion blur artifacting.

Re: my desperation with the XG2431
Input lag wise, i don't remember my XG2431 feeling slower than the TN monitors I tried.
I personally wouldn't bother with the XL2566K. I'd go for the 360Hz QHD IPS (ASUS PG27AQN and Acer XB273U Fbmiiprzx) or wait for the 540Hz ASUS PG248QP.

Re: my desperation with the XG2431
It's in your head. I don't have the equipment to measure input latency, response time, lag etc but I just know by using it daily that it is fast. It is among the fastest monitors in the market atm for a 240hz monitor ofc.
In my opinion there is no need to buy a TN panel monitor anymore. Especially we have this good BFI on an IPS display.

I know you shouldn't trust some random youtube reviewer but still this guy also talks about a big difference in input lag between XG2431 and other monitors that he tried (stating that PureXP adds a VERY noticable amount) or is he just Zowie biased ?Shing0 wrote: ↑09 Jun 2023, 05:43It's in your head. TFTCentral state that PureXP adds only about 0.5ms of input lag but I feel that its a lot more than that when in-game

Re: my desperation with the XG2431
do you have color temperature set to native?
Re: my desperation with the XG2431
Ive tried every setting , no change in how fast the game "perceives" my actions, and its not a matter of "floaty mouse" (like the effect u get using a TV in "non" game mode with a PC) or something hardware-bound.

That's very odd, I don't have this monitor but what do you mean slow? I thought you meant it didn't feel snappy, I had this sort of feeling on VG258QM but not on XL2540K for example

maybe "not snappy" is the right description, yes. a thing I didn't feel when playing on benq monitors (my XL2540 and also tried my friend's XL2546K a few months back.) thats why Im seriously considering getting the XL2566K ..
Re: my desperation with the XG2431
I haven't watched the video yet. I play apex legends 240 hz 240 fps with purexp on/off. I don't think it has a significant impact in that game. I've tried pure xp on and off and I don't see any difference really, I can't notice even a slight difference of responsiveness.chandler wrote: ↑09 Jun 2023, 08:03I know you shouldn't trust some random youtube reviewer but still this guy also talks about a big difference in input lag between XG2431 and other monitors that he tried (stating that PureXP adds a VERY noticable amount) or is he just Zowie biased ?Shing0 wrote: ↑09 Jun 2023, 05:43It's in your head. But.. I can see a difference in monitor refresh rate for instance 120hz vs 144hz / 144hz vs 200hz / 200hz - 240hz and even 240hz vs 280hz.
There is so many things to factor ,monitor is just one of them.
