Ram causing desync/input lag
Re: Ram causing desync/input lag
By the way sometimes disabling spread spectrum works and sometimes it doesn't.
I can literally tell before I join the game by the feeling of my mouse if it's gonna be playable or not.

What are your VCCIO and VCCSA voltages?whatdahek wrote: ↑31 Aug 2023, 12:181. Here's a short overview video on HPET. The speaker emphasizes Intel in the video but I know from experience AMD is just as bad or worse with this setting enabled, and AMD has acknowledged HPET decreases performance.

I've read the BIOS setting doesn't matter, but there may be a way to access hidden BIOS settings on your motherboard if you look it up.
When the problem occurs the game even feels choppy, like it's stuttering.
I just don't get why it occurs randomly.
1. Uninstall Geforce Experience if you have it
2. If your monitor is FreeSync/Gsync, turn VSync on for games you play and limit 6 FPS lower than your refresh rate
3. Don't use RTSS as a frame limiter. Use something like Nvidia Frame Limiter instead
2. Does not help/makes things worse.
Thank you tho, every idea helps.

I can't find these anywhere, do they have a different name for me ?TheKelz wrote: ↑31 Aug 2023, 15:12What are your VCCIO and VCCSA voltages?whatdahek wrote: ↑31 Aug 2023, 12:181. I don't have it.TheKelz wrote: ↑31 Aug 2023, 11:41Some generic advices:

Re: Ram causing desync/input lag
Oh, wait, you have an AMD system. Didn't think that through. They're probably called something else in your BIOS, but at this point I don't even know if those voltages matter for you. For Intel, there are VCCIO (CPU Memory Controller) and VCCSA (System Agent) and their voltages need to be high enough depending on the sticks you have. Lower voltages can create instabilities, so I thought maybe there is something similar going on for you, but I'm not sure.whatdahek wrote: ↑31 Aug 2023, 15:24I can't find these anywhere, do they have a different name for me ?TheKelz wrote: ↑31 Aug 2023, 15:12What are your VCCIO and VCCSA voltages?whatdahek wrote: ↑31 Aug 2023, 12:181. Re: Ram causing desync/input lag
It does affect aim a bit but nothing major. Never had desync or anything like that unless it's unstable. If it's unstable it can feel like thrash, either cpu or ram.
On my current system. Jedec feels good, xmp (3200c14) feels worse, tuned feels best.

2x16gb 4200mhz 16-16-16 1.5v gear 1. tuned secondaries and tertiary timings.

Pc can go from smooth and mouse light/precise to stuttery and mouse feeling heavy from a game to another it literally drives me crazy.ptuga wrote: ↑31 Aug 2023, 16:46It does affect aim a bit but nothing major. Never had desync or anything like that unless it's unstable.

It's literally unplayable when the problem kicks in. And when everything is fine it feels like I'm smurfing.
Re: Ram causing desync/input lag
I'm sadly not familiar with bios opts, I don't touch ram/cpu voltages in bios so it's hard for me to fix it on my own if there is something related to that.TheKelz wrote: ↑31 Aug 2023, 16:44Oh, wait, you have an AMD system. Re: Ram causing desync/input lag
So after more experimenting I've fixed the input lag/heavy mouse issues by a lot.
I also ended up putting my cables/power strip higher than the floor on a wooden box and it also helped.
Don't know why but it did.
Now every time mouse becomes heavy I just move the power cables a bit and it gets fixed?
What could cause that and is there a way I can make it consistent and not have to move them around constantly ?

go to the emi section, it is clear you have it.whatdahek wrote: ↑06 Sep 2023, 08:26So after more experimenting I've fixed the input lag/heavy mouse issues by a lot.
