Overclocking causing Desync

Post by espresso » 23 Oct 2023, 04:34

To make a long story short, i reset my BIOS settings to factory, disable smt/Hyperthreading, set XMP, win32priorityseparation to 2A and the game feels super smooth now. Mouse super responsive in CS2

Long story: I always overclocked my system, i browsed a lot in EMI forum and i had the idea that maybe the currents are to weak so i applied more VCORE in bios. But it actually made it feel worse.

Maybe EMI Problems are caused by overclocking?!

Absolutely any setting can give a fix. Come back tomorrow or in a few days, tell me that this no longer works.

It wont be stable, every time i found a "fix" lasted max 2 maches on faceit, but yeah for me also leaving all on default on bios helps, also desable all de usb (pci usb card)
My personal opinion,i think is something related in the registry..somehow something goes in "sleep mode" evry time i install updates, uninstal something..reinstal a driver the problem is fixed, then slowly creeps back in (sorry for my spelling)

You are not the first with this solution, for some people it helped.

It also makes sense, because theoretically the currents are lower and the processor clock is less induced in parallel conductor tracks on the motherboard.

Maybe i give undervolting a try. Or maybe it is one of the settings, like disabling power saving, C states that you disable for OCing that i counterproductive

Clean windows, disable bloat, shit and services. try stock bios, then go regedit:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\PriorityControl]
create dword32 called: Win32PrioritySeperation and change value to Hex 2A or 42 Decimal

My opinion is the same as yours, I think some operations/installation of certain things will change the registry and cause the problem.

Linux doesn't have a registry.
