question about display & mouse lag correlation
Re: question about display & mouse lag correlation
quick question, assuming Im running an optimized win11 latest update and everything, and then I connect my DAv3 , what USB port should I use for the smoothest and lowest-lag operation ? I remember reading a few years back that usb2 bandwidth is enough for 1000hz and is in fact the best choice if taking input lag and everything into account - is it still the case for 2/4/8khz mice ? or should I connect it to USB 3.1/3.2

Re: question about display & mouse lag correlation
Youtube Fr33thy always advice to connect the mouse to the usb slot closest to the CPU on the motherboard. Usually thats the USB port high on the motherboard.b0t wrote: ↑24 Oct 2023, 04:49quick question, assuming Im running an optimized win11 latest update and everything, and then I connect my DAv3 , what USB port should I use for the smoothest and lowest-lag operation ? Here on Blurbusters there also was a test with 8k mice where a conlcusion was that the 8K Viper mouse liked the usb hub on the motherboard where no other usb devices are connected. Usually a motherboard have 2 usb hubs. Its somewhere around here the article in aViper 8k topic if I am not mistaken. If I find it I drop the url here

Take a look at viewtopic.php?f=10&t=12375&hilit=viper It gives some good advice. also

A dedicated usb slot for a usb mouse seems nice..

I made it a habbit to connect both my mouse and keyboard to the highest usb2 ports (where the ps/2 ports used to be on older boards)daviddave1 wrote: ↑24 Oct 2023, 05:55Youtube Fr33thy always advice to connect the mouse to the usb slot closest to the CPU on the motherboard. Re: question about display & mouse lag correlation
I read the first thread entirely but I dont really understand how to determine which ports are cpu and which are chipset ports on my motherboard.daviddave1 wrote: ↑24 Oct 2023, 05:58Take a look at viewtopic.php?f=10&t=12375&hilit=viper It gives some good advice. also

all ports are chipsetports. But the cpuport closed to the cpu has the shortest laine and there for the most stability. ( allegedly) If you have the pctower itself verticall. check the back, The USB port highest usually is the one the most close to the cpu.b0t wrote: ↑24 Oct 2023, 06:40I read the first thread entirely but I dont really understand how to determine which ports are cpu and which are chipset ports on my motherboard.daviddave1 wrote: ↑24 Oct 2023, 05:58Take a look at viewtopic.php?f=10&t=12375&hilit=viper It gives some good advice. also

If you want to check how many usb hubs u have on your motherboard:
check device manager in windows. Press view. Press devices on connection. in the list there should be the usb hubs. Disconnect/connect devices to see which port belongs to which hub.

so it is okay to connect both my mouse (8khz potentially) and my 1000hz keyboard here ? :daviddave1 wrote: ↑24 Oct 2023, 06:50all ports are chipsetports. or should I separate them and connect the keyboard to one of the lower usb ports

put the mouse upstairs on the left port and the keyboard in the lower red usb port. if you have any other usb devices put them in the red usb ports also.b0t wrote: ↑24 Oct 2023, 07:00so it is okay to connect both my mouse (8khz potentially) and my 1000hz keyboard here ? :daviddave1 wrote: ↑24 Oct 2023, 06:50all ports are chipsetports.
