Interference of all kinds (wired, wireless, external, internal, environment, bad component) can cause error-correction (ECC) latencies like a bad modem connection, except internally in a circuit. ECC = retransmits = lag. Troubleshooting may require university degree. Your lag issue is likely not EMI.

Event Viewer Errors/Warnings related to electrical problems?
I've seen a lot of talk about our (presumed) electrical-related issues and many proposed solutions, but I haven't seen much discourse regarding our event viewer logs and I'm curious if electrical problems could cause us to get similar errors and warnings. Because I get all kinds of errors and warnings that I've tried to get rid of, but I can't find solutions for, and most of them happen on fresh installs of Windows out of the box, and on both of my PC's (both at my house). Note: some event viewer errors and warnings are perfectly normal, but nonetheless I'd like to start a topic about it just for the sake of it being documented somewhere. Maybe we will find similarities amongst us experiencing suspected electrical-related problems. Hopefully this post is allowed in here.
The events that I get that are most alarming to me are from the source StorPort and can be found by, in the left pane of event viewer, navigating to Applications and Services Logs -> Microsoft -> Windows -> StorPort
Inside Microsoft-Windows-Storage-Storport/Operational I get errors 549, 523, and 534 and warning 557's. These are all nvme "errors" for my boot drive. They say things like "An IO took more than 30000 ms to complete for Storport Device". BTW these events (557), if you go to the details tab, they have a string that says "WaitDuration_ms" and some list crazy times like 42843319ms which is ~12 hours! I get all the same errors and high times on both of my PCs which I find interesting. Additionally the behavior is the same. I get a couple of them every time I turn on either PC and then some periodically while using my PC.
Also, inside Microsoft-Windows-Storage-Storport/Health I get event warning 548's that just say "The miniport logged a health event." All of these events I get when I turn on my PC as well as seemingly randomly. But I get them every day and have been since the day I installed Windows on this PC last. Some of the events, if you go to the details tab and select XML View, list strings of Intel Hex, but I don't know how to get anything meaningful out of it. Apparently there are some programs for Linux that could translate it and possibly get something useful from it. I did download Intel's tool for testing nvme drives for issues and my drive tested fine with 98% life left and no errors, so I'm not sure the hex string would even yield anything of use. Only other thing I can think to add is that I also tested my drive with the program DiskGenius, which netted me inconsistent results that varied depending on whether I tested the whole drive or individual partitions. When I tested the partition of my drive that I used briefly for a Linux install, it reported a lot of "good" sectors as opposed to the rest of my drive having almost all "excellent" sectors. (This is strange because I only used that partition for one day.)
Additional events I get on both PCs:
"Event 10002, WLAN-AutoConfig:
WLAN Extensibility Module has stopped.
Module Path: C:\Windows\system32\IntelIHVRouter04.dll"
My other PC uses a different wifi card/motherboard so the event lists a different dll file, but it's the same event and I get it when I turn on my PC just like my main one. Also, they're both on different ISPs and I'm pretty sure I get it randomly as well.
And finally I also get a TON of DCOM errors and warnings, damn near constant actually. They always say I have issues with permissions but I have not been able to figure them out even with ChatGPT's help. (The ID's the events give me don't exist when I try to find them in Component Services.
More errors and warnings I get are found in:
LiveID
CloudRestoreLauncher
HelloForBusiness
Known Folders
SettingsSync
SMB Client
StateRepository
Store
TaskScheduler
User Device Registration
Windows Remote Management
WMI-Activity
All are located in Applications and Services Logs -> Microsoft -> Windows) exactly where StorPort was located, but I don't think they are related and I'm only including them here for documentation. And again some errors and warnings are perfectly normal so I wouldn't recommend obsessing over every thing you see.
I've tried figuring out what causes these events but have turned up empty handed on all of them so far. So at this point I'd just like to document what my event viewer looks like because playing online games for me is impossible and unenjoyable. You can see my other post if you're curious about my suspected electricity-related problems. (viewtopic.php?f=24&t=12345&p=96443#p96443)

Re: Event Viewer Errors/Warnings related to electrical problems?
I just checked if I get any errors for storport and I get 549 and 524 errors often atleast once everyday. Now maybe we can see if someone who do not have the inputlag/desync issues also have these errors. And if more people with issues get these errors
Got the 10002 errors also but every few days. I was playing with lag today and yesterday also but don't have the 10002 error from the past few days.
And lot of kernel-eventtracing event id 2 errors every minute or few mins
Other lot of daily errors also:
CloudrestoreLauncher (Mix of periodic verbose and erros event ID 1)
HelloForBusiness (not many errors rarely)
LiveId (errors event ID 6114 and 6113)
Known Folders (no errors, lots of warnings)
SMB Client ( for securitym no errors but lots of warnings event ID 31018)
StateRepository (Verbose from recent days but LOTS of warnings dating back event ID 104)
Store( Some warnings event id 8002)
TaskScheduler (warnings event ID 808)
User Device Registration (Lots of wanrings. Event ID 360)
Windows Remote Management (2-6 errors every day event ID 142, 161 and 254)
WMI-Activity (bunch of errors in between information pop up event Id 5858)

Re: Event Viewer Errors/Warnings related to electrical problems?
Interesting, so a lot of shared events. We need to figure out if these events are normal or not. Anyone else?MontyTheAverage wrote: ↑04 Nov 2023, 19:15I just checked if I get any errors for storport and I get 549 and 524 errors often atleast once everyday. Re: Event Viewer Errors/Warnings related to electrical problems?
Those aren't related to electricity at all. One clean Windows reinstall will fix majority of those errors. Some of them are expected depending on what type of install/tweaks you have. Forget about it.
Re: Event Viewer Errors/Warnings related to electrical problems?
I checked and most of these errors I was getting at first boot after doing a clean install.
Re: Event Viewer Errors/Warnings related to electrical problems?
Also, to my knowledge most of these events should not be expected. At least not for me. I have never used any cloud storage like One Drive on this PC. Never signed in with a Microsoft account, or used MS Hello (pin code, facial recognition, etc.). I've tried diagnosing them on MS forums but no one has been able to explain why I'd even be getting them. I use windows 10 home so I dont even have HelloForBusiness, for example.

Re: Event Viewer Errors/Warnings related to electrical problems?
Somehow I missed your reply. I dont use Intel RST, never had had it installed on my machine. I contacted solidigm (the manufacturer of my Intel SSD in my main PC) and they told me theyve never seen the StorPort errors before but that they want to warranty my drive... I said nah because it isn't broken and every PC in my house except for one that has Win 8 installed gets the same errors in event viewer.
I have been told by solidigm that I might be able to get more information on the errors by kernel debugging.
I've been trying to actually play some games lately. It's been awful. Splitgate is unplayable due to frametime stutters everytime I see an opponent and Halo is so unstable it's not really possible to play... So depressing.

Re: Event Viewer Errors/Warnings related to electrical problems?
In my country there is breakers on live wires , sure. But neutral wire doesnt have any on off switch so they just bound together (Maybe everywhere its like that) So when ppl say they tried turning off breakers vs its not a complete blunt diagnose attempt on house wiring you know.ImBIGJEFF wrote: ↑17 Dec 2023, 03:49Somehow I missed your reply. Anyway you should try to disconnect neutrals and power pc with 1 pair of connection only
Also read this if you havent already: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=12655&p=99308#p99119
It might be these events decaying some oxidation on wires and provide better contact temporarily , building is very old and mains connections twisted by hand and they hang outside no isolation , and by judging wall paint on them they did not re tightened for long time
Re: Event Viewer Errors/Warnings related to electrical problems?
I dont know anything about electric and wont be touching mine lol.
But what I am doing is ordering a cord so I can kernel debug my main pc and hopefully get more info on the StorPort errors/warnings. I looked up all of StorPort's functions and there are some that correlate to the events so I am hopefully going to get more info than what's available in event viewer. Just as a curiosity thing. Ive never done any kernel debugging before.
