Why does 144hz feel better than 240hz in Apex Legends on controller?

I think your controller’s polling rate is the issue. I have a theory that polling rates need to be double your FPS.

So if you are playing 240fps you need 500hz polling rate controller. That’s the reason you feel like your aim is better at 144fps it’s because your polling rate is 250hz (about double your FPS)

Nyquist aliasing can also occur in the temporal domain (as jitters at low frequencies, or as extra blur at high frequencies -- stutter blends to blur -- stutter to blur continuum animation).

So 2x+ oversampling is beneficial for unsychronized frequencies (pollrate versus framerate).

This was in an 8000Hz mouse research paper, it performs best if your mouse pollrate is massively higher than your display refresh rate.
