Hi Widow13,
Your testimony is very very interesting, thanks a lot for the share. What if the technician you spoke with was right?
For a few days I have been testing a Category 5 UTP cable on a fiber connection (with the only change in the connection parameters on Windows the transmission and reception buffer) and the game is totally different, the most notable is the hitreg, it's very perfect hitreg
Usually input lag returns very quickly on average 1 day after a major change in the configuration.
To watch, provided it lasts.
You are very welcome and I hope it lasts and you have great gameplay from now on.
Bad thing with w10 I'm on is that I can't change the trans/rec buffer to higher than 512 where as in w11 I could.
I might have to go back to w11 so I can take advantage of higher polling rates soon.
But the feeling so far is still fine so I'm not complaining yet!

@Widow13 thanks bro
ah because you would like to increase the transmission/reception times?
are you sure it's related to Windows and not your internet driver?
For my part I lowered them.
According to what I read yesterday on a site where the person shared their internet optimization, there are two schools for this subject.
Some say we should lower them to the lowest and others say we should increase them to the highest.
In IT, no one ever agrees

I'm pretty sure it's the driver but it's what is recommended for w10.
I really don't mind as far as I don't have issues I just stick with what I have.
But honestly u just experiment and see what works for you.
What number did you with ? 128 ?
Honestly it's true, some people say transmit buffer to be 2x of your receive and some people just match them.
I might go back to w11 either way for the higher polling support tho because I got the new viper v3 pro.

Strangely it was incredible at first when connecting the UTP cable but the input lag came back :'(
I went back to the default buffers and returned to my Wavlink 2.5 GB usb extension and SFTP cat 8 cable.
There's something really interesting on this side: INTERFERENCE!!!
I remember the first game I had on Faceit after connecting the SFTP cat 8 cable was incredibly crunchy but the input lag very quickly returned, the same after connecting the UTP cable, excellent feeling then returned.
At the start of my latency problems I quickly excluded the hardware side in favor of an electricity problem (bad wiring in my old home) and now interference is also a serious possibility.

How do you know if there is any interference? Have you measured it with your own eyes?

@cursed-gamer
excellent question.
An electrician with a tool to detect and quantify interference ?
This reminds me about 3 years ago I contacted an electrician in a neighboring region to come and do a diagnosis but unfortunately he did not work in my region.
I briefly explained my latency problem to him and surprisingly he didn't think I was crazy and he was the first person to advise me to use an Ethernet cable that protects against interference and to give him feedback because my case interested him, and unfortunately I did not record his number or his name...

1. What kind of interference?
2. Which parameters were exceeded and by how much?
3. What tool did he use?
Why won't you provide some details instead of prophecies?

@cursed-gamer I have already given you the details... I shared with you my conversation with this electrician, what more do you want? on a subject where we are novices these are only assumptions.
Why are you talking about prophecy? you are off-topic my "assumptions" the term would be more appropriate and in the context, are only linked to my personal/lived experience in relation to my input lag problem.
For me I am 300% sure that this problem is linked to electricity (bad wiring) and/or internet and/or interference the three can possibly accumulate.
I came to this reasoning once again due to my personal experience...

@cursed-gamer How would you react if after connecting (for the very first time) an SFTP cat 8 or UTP cat 5 cable your input lag completely disappears on Faceit for the space of a few games and the problem returns very quickly? as a pragmatic person (at least if you are)

@cursed-gamer for information it was only a telephone exchange with this electrician...
