Normally the optimal parameter is 100%
If you have to put it at 120% to have better performance in the game, there is a scaling problem related to your screen.
@Asesino34 I know how you feel I'm happy for you. Congratulations to the author of this topic for his discovery and sharing.

Well, It made a huge difference for me in terms of smoothness, hitreg and etc is the same. The catch is I can't control my spray now and my mouse feels unnatural, maybe we should try markc fix with this one.
Question: Did anyone felt slutters while running cs or valo?

Re: input lag and floaty mouse fix that is working for me
I originally thought hyote meant he reverted the fix but hyote actually meant win8dpiscaling key is the reason why the fix is working. scale@120, or rather the value for Logpixels, doesnt matter here. As long as win8dpiscaling is 1, the fix would be implemented is what hyote is saying.
I tried putting 60 decimal/96 hex for logpixels which put the scaling back to 100 and somehow i dont think i can quite differentiate between 100 and 120 but i have only tested it for one dm. Certainly need more testing and time to try it out thoroughly.

Thanks for sharing,so after i apply the "tweak" it must look like this right ?zezozn wrote: ↑23 Jun 2024, 04:56Hi guys,
I have been trying to fix my input lag for a long time, and my hypothesis was that there is something wrong with my scaling because it was affecting all aspects of my PC, not just Valorant but also League and God of War, any offline or online game, and also my viewing experience on Twitch and YouTube.
I tried all the possible solutions that could be provided on this forum. I even bought a new PC and had an electrician visit my home to inspect, and we found nothing. While I was surfing the internet for a solution, I came across this video talking about Windows scaling by LinusTech watch?v=NF210WeR9C8&t=332s.
Then I thought to myself that maybe the scaling on my monitor (ViewSonic VX2428) is not right. For some reason, I always felt that the angles and FOV in Valorant are different and seem smaller than usual, and my game felt very different every time I changed the scaling options in NVIDIA Control Panel. Also, if I changed the in-game display from letterbox to fill, it had a different feel, but none gave the right feel for the game, and I still had my input delay problem.
Then I started to set a custom scale for my monitor. I started adding small percentages to my original scaling, which was 100%. I started with 101%, which was a bit blurry and didn't fix the problem, but I felt an enhancement in my game and mouse feel until I kept adding until I reached the value of 120%, which gave me a very crisp image for my desktop, and the taskbar was clean and crisp.
Then I hopped on a deathmatch, and everything was so smooth, and the angles were the right size and i could react to people and my movements were smooth. I then tried on a couple of different offline games like God of War and Ghost of Tsushima. My testing here was to parry the enemy as it was incredibly hard before and very unresponsive. Now, I was able to do that, and everything feels smooth again.
Bottom line is I tested on my side, and I want to share this solution with you guys. Maybe it may help you, and I'm really looking forward to your feedback on the matter and for you to test it for yourselves.
To change the scaling:
Right-click on your desktop and choose display options.
Choose scale and then custom scale.
Enter the value 120, then sign out and sign in again.
I hope this solves your problem as it did for me.
after i put 120% scaling, win8dpiscaling went from 0 to 1
and dword was created "log pixels"

+1 this fix for input lag/floaty mouse worked for me. Thanks for sharing this. Also had to go the registry route to implement.JimCarry wrote: ↑25 Jun 2024, 14:15yeah i know i saw it being created as i show in the screenshot,i am just too lazy to writeclive51 wrote: ↑25 Jun 2024, 13:58yea i think you have done it rightJimCarry wrote: ↑25 Jun 2024, 13:33Thanks for sharing,so after i apply the "tweak" it must look like this right ?zezozn wrote: ↑23 Jun 2024, 04:56Hi guys,

Re: input lag and floaty mouse fix that is working for me
This is not one of those things that add the feeling of smoothness through increased latency but something entirely else. Tested on pc and laptop, the difference is clear with a touchpad as well.
Re: input lag and floaty mouse fix that is working for me
Scaling definitely has an impact on this issue, whether it’s a symptom or a solution remains unclear for me, but for a few years now I have been using 150% scaling despite the horrible and hard to get used to desktop thumbnails.
125% feels like it adds mouse accel and 100% feels like it’s under shooting. This could be chalked down to personal preference, but for myself 150 feels more accurate than 100.
Side note, if you want to make thumbnails more palletable, when on the desktop screen hold ctrl + scroll mousewheel to adjust thumbnails more intricately

Re: input lag and floaty mouse fix that is working for me
I've been using scaling fixes for a few months along with cru and deleting monitor drivers. I had only used the custom scale once before but this time it seemed to help, for a while.
Here is the crazy part though, when it ran perfect I lost my internet several times. On the third or forth time my internet cut out, it created a WHOLE NEW ETHERNET CONTROLER labeled #2. I disabled the original and hadn't noticed any difference but it got me to order a new ethernet card. I'm starting to feel like (maybe) something in the network card or connection itself is what is adversely affecting the scaling. Does anyone have any ideas on this?
