But wouldn't supporting higher Hz help with the input lag (due to faster scannout speeds), even if FPS is double digits?
Sure, but you'd have to take it up with Sony.
TVs have already started implementing QFT to reduce 60 FPS latency at 120Hz
(like the C4's boost mode, etc), but consoles are still behind the curve in this respect. I'm not even sure Sony engineers are fully aware of the benefits at a technical-level
(this is all still very niche), and even if they were, who knows if they'd care to implement it anyway.
The marketing would be more difficult as well...
Sony: "PS5 now supports up to 240Hz 60-120 FPS VRR output to further decrease scanout latency!"
99% of buyers: "Huh?"

That, and while I can't speak to the S90D, the 144Hz mode on the C4 is technically an overclock, which I haven't found to be glitch free, at least for PC use. I don't bother with it, and use 120Hz instead, currently.
Hey, I was in the market for a LG OLED C4, to be used with a PC at 144hz.
What kind of glitches are we talking about? I can't find anything online.
Thanks!

It's been a year or so since I tried it, so they may have patched some of it out by now, or it might have been specific to my configuration, but when I had it enabled vs. 120Hz, I was getting screen blackouts that would prevent me from using the input or from me even being able to switching inputs without a power
(cable-from-the-wall) reset.
My guess is 144Hz mode on the C4 uses a low level of DSC, and since I had it connected to the same PC that also has a 2k 360Hz monitor
(which uses DSC) attached, it was a bandwidth issue; multi-monitor DSC is basically a no-go.
Either way, the 144Hz mode is considered an overclock on the C4, so there's bound to be some minor potential issues over the native 120Hz of the panel, especially since it's a TV and not a dedicated gaming monitor
(where more attention is typically paid to such features).

Thanks.
I actually have a 1440p 360hz QD-OLED as well on the side desk but I never use
both together, I only turn one of them on at a given time, depending on my use case (and roll my chair over to that specific desk, haha).
My LG CX is still alive anyway, but it's kinda on its last legs now. Lots of pixels dying around the edges (not an OLED issue but a manufacturing defect on the 2020 models, burn-in wise I do have some but it's not visible in any real world content yet).
Not in a rush but I've seen the C4 go down to 800€ in the 48" variant so I'm
really considering it. Not that 144hz is a noticeable upgrade over 120hz but games often don't offer a granular framerate cap so I could be extra lazy (as in no RTSS/NVCP etc.) and use the 120fps menu option to stay in VRR range (or 60 with frame gen), and as a bonus my 60fps streams and recordings will look smoother than with a 116fps cap.

Same defect with my CX; still have it in another room.

Again, may have been my particular use-case and/or lack of TV updates at the time. Could be fine for you, I just can't validate on my side since I haven't used 144Hz mode on it enough to say.
