God I wish I didn't have OCD with stuff like this, it really keeps me from enjoying video games and movies. I think what I'll do is buy the benq and then return it if for some reason I don't like it, in which case I'll buy the x-star. Thanks for your help guys, I'm sure I'll be back when I get the monitor.

No idea on the skipping but the the pixel response time will still have input lag. Its a really tough call for your budget. Do you mind not so great colors with great response or great colors with slower response? Idealy the best of both worlds is the Eizo but thats out of budget and it still has a hint of input lag. I say go for the XL2411Z but only if you purchase a colormeter to calibrate with. The colors took me a long time to get right on my XL2420z. I ended up having to upgrade all the way to the Spyder 4 Elite to get good results.
My only gripe now is I wish these monitors didnt have the long warmup time. I dont remember my old Samsung TN being like this.
